The 59-year-old’s appointment is subject to the agreement of personal terms although the GFA have said that if they fail to reach and agreement with Grant, Spaniard Juan Ignacio Martínez Jiménez will be given the job. The Israeli will take over the position, which has been vacant since September, following the sacking of former head coach Kwesi Appiah.

Citi Sports’ Gary-Al Smith reported that the GFA, at the press conference, named Avram Grant and Juan Ignacio Martínez Jiménez as the “most exceptional” of the candidates interviewed for the job.

Ghana FA boss says Av Grant wants to “understudy” current setup before assuming full time role. Financial details yet to be agreed.
