tbh I always read Reid as queer. I just, like, don’t see how you can’t?? i mean, really.
The tweet says it got “shut down” by the mini-relationship with JJ in s1—and he clarifies he envisioned Reid as bisexual when he first wrote the show and apologizes for offending bisexual people by implying dating someone of the “opposite” gender = not bisexual. Other sources, such as the Criminal Minds wikia state it was because the network would have censored it/cancelled the show.
so if you want to count Reid as rep, that’s all up to you. I really hate it had to be censored—but I am glad that’s the reason, vs “oh we just decided not to” or something, y’know? like, not JKR’s nonsense with Dumbledore
I count Reid as rep, and I’ll fight anyone who says he can’t be bisexual/biromantic
one of my greatest friends, who is demiromantic/graysexual, considers Reid both bi and demisexual representation/sees him as both — since his only longstanding romantic relationship is with one person, Maeve.
