2013-12-16

Over the last twelve months the Lord has blessed Circle Christian School in many exciting ways.  As you review the information, consider a gift to Circle as part of your planned giving.  Contributions to Circle are fully tax deductible.  Your contribution helps us to further our mission to families throughout central Florida.

If you are not in a position to give financially, you can still support Circle in a significant way by sharing your Circle story with others and encouraging them to become part of the Circle family.

We give thanks to the Lord for the many blessings listed below.  To God be the glory!

ACADEMICS

Over 500 students in campus classes

The academic department successfully completed an NCAA renewal audit of new academic standards

A new aviation program was established in partnership with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Eagle’s Nest Projects

ARTS

The arts department at Circle Christian School continues to flourish and continues to be recognized in the local community for its excellence.  Over 130 students participate in the arts classes.

Visual Arts

Working with Florida Hospital Altamonte, our art students continue to showcase their work in the hospital galleries through a program called God’s Heart in Art.

Film

Film students continue to learn the art of Christian film-making including a workshop conducted by David Nixon, the producer of Facing the Giants, Fireproof, Letters to God.

Music

Our Worship Band classes have expanded into two classes during our 2013-14 school year – allowing our 7th and 8th grade students to have a separate class.

Photography

Our third year of offering creative photography and Mrs. Smith continues to nurture and encourage our young photographers to apply the principles of composition, lighting, texture, contrast, framing, perspective, and the rules of thirds to create beautiful and interesting photographs.

Theatre

Our 2nd annual Arts Night saw our students bring the performance levels to new heights.

The Wind In The Willows presented by Circle Studio Players had one of the best attendance of shows by this young group with over 94.1% of the house filled.

The Taming of LaRue presented by Circle Theatre Kids packed the Commons at Metro for a one-night performance with over 155 in attendance.

Me and My Girl was our 9th large scale musical performed at the Orlando Repertory Edyth Bush Theatre and continued to entertain and delight our audiences.

Tim and Becky Saunders joined Circle over the summer dedicated to full-time involvement in growing the arts at Circle.

2013-14 brought back the Family Series with a twist – student directors.  Our first student directed production of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown was highly successful with bringing a new leadership factor to the theatre students from directing, stage managing, choreography, to running sound and lights – parents and students both are very excited to have the opportunities to learn and grow in these areas.

A strong push in advertising sales resulted in the highest ad sales in the history of CTC with a target customer of Christian colleges.  CTC has begun developing relationships with their theatre departments and secured set designing from Shorter University for CSP.

Before our Company fall production of The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, we were nominated for “Best Theatre Group” in Orlando.  Robin Hood gave our students the opportunity to break the 4th wall and four out of the nine performances were sold out.

Our second show in our Family Series, Every Christmas Story Ever Told, gave another team of theatre students the opportunity to lead.  This show appeared to be one of the most “talked” about shows in Circle history with its non-stop laughter.

On December 9, Circle Theatre Company was named by Orlando A-List as the BEST THEATRE GROUP in Orlando by their voters – beating out the professional theatres in town (Mad Cow Theatre, The Orlando Repertory Theatre, and the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre).
