There’s just something about Lego that always puts me in a happy mood. The accessories (cross bow anyone?), the huge 6-foot sculptures, the Lego sets… all of it.
So when I learned Warner Bros was making an actual Lego movie, I thought it sounded like the coolest freaking idea of the century. I imagined it to be a Toy Story made entirely about Lego men. The possibilities seemed endless. (Watch this awesome clip of “bloopers” here.)
I wanted to get on board. There are uber-creative types who have done some un-freaking-believable things with Lego, like recreating famous scenes from Inception and Indiana Jones. (Alex Eylar is one such cool dude, check out his phenomenal pics here.)
I am nowhere near that talented but I thought – what if we photographed the Lego Men around Brizvegas for our own little photo shoot? Using some i-phones, Blu Tack and characters straight from my 1980s toy box (except for the superheroes), here’s who we ran into: a doctor, an astronaut, a firefighter, some Robin Hood types, an equestrian rider, a ship full of dodgy pirates (stubble beards and all), a couple of suits and a few naval British officers from the 1800s by the look of them.
So take a look at what we came up – can you spot all the places we visited? Send us your own snaps and you could win a great prize!

Now it’s your turn!
To mark the release of the upcoming Lego Movie on April 3, we want you to grab your camera, chuck some Lego men (or women) in your bag and send us some snaps of them out & about in your city.
You could win a Family Pass for 4 people to see the movie this school holidays, courtesy of Birch Carroll & Coyle and Event Cinemas! We have three up for grabs in March.
Full details of the competition will be available tomorrow March 1. Entries close March 28.
