Lately, though, some area homebuilders have worked harder to make new homes fit in with downtown Montgomery’s historic feel. This Remington Road listing is a prime example. The John Hueber-designed home looks strikingly similar to some of the Sears kit homes from the early 1900s. Slate-like asphalt shingles, a stone-trimmed front porch, and a green clapboard and shake exterior all add to the effect.
