The Cigar Industry Report is a one stop place to catch up on the activity here at Cigar Coop and Stogie Geeks. It is a combination of our news reports, cigar reviews, and assessment updates we do throughout the week. We will also recap what happened on our Stogie Geeks show. Finally, each week we will look back at Cigar Coop history. Look for this report every Saturday morning at 8am Eastern time.

Cigar Industry Report: Volume 6, Number 2 (Edition 203 12/3/16)

Feature of the Week: President Elect Trump Nominates Rep Tom Price to head Dept of HHS

It’s the Cabinet nomination the cigar industry will most be interested in. President-Elect Donald Trump nominated Georgia Congresman Tom Price M.D. to be his Secretary of Health and Human Services. This is significant because the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is an agency under Health and Human Services. In the past Price has shown to be supportive of bills exempting premium cigars. We got the details here.
