WELLINGTON — Cousins Morgan and Meghan Bremke are the 2012 Lorain County Fair junior king and queen.

The Bremkes are a familiar name in the ranks of junior fair royalty, and listing each’s siblings that have held the titles proves a lengthy task.

Morgan and Meghan both show hogs at the fair. Morgan is a senior at the Lorain County JVS and captain of his Oberlin High School soccer team. Meghan is entering Lorain County Community College, where she is going in to nursing.

“Soccer, 4-H and living on my farm, that’s my life,” Morgan said.

Megan is president of the Junior Fair Board and also participates in the Ohio State Fair. During her senior year of high school at Keystone, she was a majorette in the marching band.

“It’s just something I terribly miss,” she said. “It’s so much fun.”

Morgan and Meghan competed against a total of 11 finalists, who all had to submit an application, participate in an interview and write a short speech. They were voted on by the Junior Fair Board members.

Both Morgan and Meghan are 4-H camp counselors during the summer on Kelleys Island and are looking forward to bumping in to their campers this week at the fair.

“4-H just isn’t the week of the fair. It’s a lifetime experience that you will never forget,” Morgan said. “The opportunities and options that you have at the fair, it’s just great. I encourage all the youth to try every option that you have.”

For anyone who might want to check out the fair, even for the first time, Meghan’s advice is to-the-point: “Do it.”

“The friends that you make here, you’ll never lose them; the things that you do, you’ll never forget,” Morgan said. “So I greatly encourage everyone to come.”
