AROUND TOWN—Here is the latest installment of the Eater Chicago Heatmap, bringing you the 14 hottest restaurants in town every month. The June edition adds a top Chef alum's first restaurant, a new Filipino spot in Logan Square, and Lettuce Entertain You's foray into the trendy ramen scene.

EVERYWHERE—Homemade Pizza Co., the take-and-bake chain that once had nearly 40 locations, shuttered all of them with little notice.

RIVER NORTH—DMK Restaurants (DMK Burger Bar, Fish Bar, County Barbecue) is planning some interesting things for the 18 W. Hubbard space that used to be Lao 18. Expect throwback games, house-carbonated cocktails on draft and in bottles, many many types of sliders, and a "Mezcal Mule" machine in two weeks or so at Henry's Swing Club.

WICKER PARK/WEST LOOP—It's almost time for celebrity chef Rick Bayless' first standalone Chicago restaurant in more than four years. Expect XOCO Wicker Park to open in late-July, but his more-secret Restaurant Row project won't open until next year.
