Lord

I think it’s a bit rude to say “white people are so annoying” to these people. Are they not two people (whom are black and the other Japanese?)
@cheshireinthemiddle

Lo ve how they cropped the other ones out too, with no counterargument.

I just highlighted the two highest points of the ridiculous reaching and flat out lying you pulled in your post.

If it is racism when it happens to anyone else, then it is racism when it happens to white people.

Caricatures of race and negative stereotypes effecting hiring of certain races would be considered racist by you if they happened to any other race, yet you refuse to see it when it happens yo groups you dislike

Prove it wrong. Have an actual discussion about it. Or just admit your hatred of white people based on their skin color and race, which by the way, is in fact racism.

“Prove it wrong” prove what wrong? The burden of proof falls on you for your ridiculous claim. Anyone with some sense knows in your first “point” in that post is fabricated: a straight up lie thats never happened. You made up the first situation to paint black people/restaurants in a bad light for whatever reason based off some meme.

I even looked it up. The first three sources are your post and two different reblogs of your post. Lets try searching it but rephrased: (X) (X) (X) All these contain results that are contrary to your point (black ppl discriminated against in white restaurants).

Are you really claiming nintendo’s Mario is a harmful stereotype? Literally explain how past him saying “mamma mia” and having mustache he is a stereotype? Show me where Italians have faced discrimination due to Mario’s hazardous influence PLEASE.

1. Umm… no, we didnt. The first situation came from living in a black neighborhood. Black owned businesses, which were plentiful in black neighborhoods, frequently excluded the hiring of white people in that same neighborhood, dispite their financial need being the same. Later, when we lived in Arizona, a business manager of Lolos chicken and waffles made a comment after interviewing a white employee about how “white people dont season their food”. Meaning their reason for not hiring this person was based on racial bias. They, the manager, in a position of power, used a negative assumpion of race to determine whether or not to hire someone. That is racism.

We made a statement, you called it a lie. But you have to back it up with more than your assumption of whether or not it was true. That is it. That is what happened. If you believe it to be a lie. Prove it wrong.

2. That same company almost got sued by a black woman over the use of the pokemon Jynx for her perception of racial stereotypes. Many black rights groups had a problem with jynx and called it racist. That opposition got her skin color changed in all english games to purple. Same with Mr. Popo from dbz.

Now we have Mario, who is an Italian stereotype. The same situation in the same company from the same country, and it is suddenly not racist? He is an overweight mustached plumber with a heavy accent. This is a racial stereotype.

I could litterally reverse your argument to “explain how a black character saying “oh mah lawd!” is harmful to black people.“

If it is racist when it happens to black people, it is racist when it happens to white people. So that means that it is either racist for both or neither. Pick one.

Generally when you dispute something you explain why and how you’re disprove it. Person 1: *makes a claim” // person 2: “that sounds fake, prove it” // Person 1: “how about YOU PROVE IT”

I called it a lie because I live in a black neighborhood, regularly patron black businesses AND come from a family of black entrepreneurs and haven’t seen or heard of whites being denied employment in black establishments - Nor could I find any online sources or stories about it when I know from my own experiences, other’s experiences and widely available statistics that the opposite is true (blacks denied employment/service in white businesses). So you’ve noticed some conspiracy against whites that they haven’t even noticed themselves apparently.

Jynx looks (or looked) like a sambo doll. The little black sambo story  and accompanying dolls (both racist btw) were popular around the world and its not a far stretch to say “oh yeah this design could come from this”. Whether Jynx was intentionally based on a sambo or not - thats why the change was made. I’ve never heard of them being sued over the design but it was changed because many people thought the design was in poor taste. The reason the “oh lawd” would be COULD be seen as offensive is because it straight out the old ass mammy stereotype with broken aave.

Mario’s stereotypes come from what? Was plumping really an italian stereotype before Mario? Or being fat, which I’ve never heard used as a stereotype against Italians. Where have you heard Italian’s or Italian American’s complaining about Mario? Its not some scheme against poor ole white people, I promise if Italians were largely and vocally offended by Mario then Nintendo, being a large business not wanting to lose customers, would change/alter him. Especially in this new age like how they changed the NA release of Fire Emblem for the American audience.

You missed so many points

1. Just like you claimed my claim was a lie because it was different than you neighborhood, i can claim your claim was a lie because my neighboorhood was different. But quite frankly, you not dealing with it or notchoosing to see it in your specific neighborhood is no reason to doubt that it happned where i lived, using your logic, and seeing how we most likely did not grow up in the same place.

2. Jynx is based off of a type of yokai that is basically a hair demon. It has a fake body that it uses to lure people to it. Evidence is seen in the stadium games where a fainted jynx dissapears save for its hair. The black skin is from it being a japanese yokai reference. A few groups assumed racial intent despite evidence showing otherwise. So for the countries specifically that would make it into a race issue, they changed the color.

Mario, however, is most clearly reliant on stereotypes. They do not even deny that he is supposed to be Italian. Your blog and your “poor white people” comment show that you pick and choose what racial generalizations are racist and that is sad to see.

But honestly, i have already responded to your other blog with this. Just because it isnt spoken out against as much, does not dilute the issue. Rape is a gendered crime for half of the world’s population, but that isnt advertised as an issue of inequality by supposed equality groups or the UN. That doesnt mean that gendered crime definitions arent a huge problem. The song Blurred Lines and the assumptions about the lyrics gets more social media attention than countries literally stating that only men can be punished for certain crimes, including rape. Even with concrete evidence and an infinitely more serious issue, the wrong one gets more attention.

White people are not in a group that typically get defended by your side. As such, when they are effected by the same racial problem, it isnt seen as an issue and a big deal isnt made about it.

The difference is Italian is not a race, and Italians clearly don’t have a problem with Mario. I’ve never heard of any Italian getting angry over Mario. If a black woman was offended by Jynx because she felt it was racist, then okay. But you can’t just make up problems that don’t exist saying Mario is racist to Italians just because no one cared about it(including Italians). Unless you’re Italian, then correct me if I’m wrong.

You seem confused.

It is a caracature or of white people, strictly using stereotypes. Anyone who believes in equality should treat it the same as, say a character from the exact same company. The sifference being that one is actually a yokai from Japanese culture that happens to share physocal traits of black americans, while Mario is definately a caracature of Italians.

That woman who had a problem with jynx has a history of calling things racism whem it isnt. Her job is staying relavent by staying loud. Quiet frankly, if her alone thinking jynx is racist makes it racist, then one person finding mario offensive and ravist makes it racist.

The fact that people dont defend groups when effected by the same thing based on race is racism. It has already been explained here. Rape being gendered by law for most of the worlds population and it not being considered a problem by feminists or the UN, doesnt magically make it not a problem. Women having a peoblem with it doesnt mean that it iant a problem. So a big deal not being made about it doeant change the fact that it is the same thing.

Treat the problem the same. Either it is racism for both or neither.
