Tipped to be playing a boy-next-door, Suriya, we hear, is in the process of knocking off 10 kilos for his role in the film, which also stars Keerthy Suresh.
According a source, Suriya was required to beef up to play the titular role in Singam, and now he has to shed the extra weight to play a much younger role in Thaana Serntha Kootam, which is said to be a heist comedy.
There were also reports that the film is the official remake of Akshay Kumar-starrer Special 26. However, when the film’s producer Gnanavel Raja was contacted, he clarified it as baseless rumour and assured that it’s an original script.
The regular shooting is expected to commence from November 19 in Chennai. Former filmmaker-actor Suresh Menon has been roped in to play a pivotal role and the project will have music by Anirudh Ravichander, who is collaborating with Suriya for the first time.
