Antonio Conte admits he is disappointed with Chelsea’s 1-1 draw at Burnley, and says his side deserved to win the game.

Burnley midfielder Robbie Brady’s superb free-kick cancelled out Pedro’s seventh-minute strike, which proved to be Chelsea’s last shot on target at Turf Moor.

But Chelsea, who are now 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League, deserved to take all three points, according to the Italian.

He told Sky Sports: “We must be disappointed for this point, because I think that this type of game we could win. It’d a pity because we started very well and created chances, and then the free-kick.

“We keep the situation under control, and also created many chances to score the goal. Maybe we could kill the game, but it didn’t happen, and then a free-kick to draw.

“Then the second half became a physical game, this long ball. We don’t know this type of game, this long ball, second game is not easy to play here against Burnley, who have 29 points now at home after this game in 30 points in total.

“It means that at home they are a strong team. But I think that we deserved to win today.”

Chelsea’s lead could be reduced to eight if Manchester City beat Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Monday Night Football, live on Sky Sports 1.

Conte says Chelsea will not be relaxing and know there is work to do in the remaining 13 games of the Premier League season if the Blues are to win their fifth Premier League title.

“For sure [there is work to do], but we know this,” he said. “Now there are 13 games before the end of the season. For sure we know that there is a long way, but it is important to continue to work in this way, keep playing this type of game and to fight. Today I think we were a bit unlucky.

“It’s important in every game to try to win. I think we tried also today to win the game, but we weren’t able, because we found a strong team very tough at home.

“But now It’s important to restart. It’s a draw, we’ll take a point, but we must be a bit disappointed for it.”
