Chatham and Fit For Business – A Partnership for Progress

Earlier this year, Chatham was proud to become one of Fit For Business’s global partners. Based in Dubai, Fit for Business is an award-winning, not-for-profit, global sports business community, which aims to bring companies and individuals who are passionate about sport together whilst promoting business.

Read on to find out more about what Fit For Business does and learn about Chatham’s partnership with this fantastic organisation.

The Perfect Match – Why Chatham and Fit For Business Make a Great Team

Fit For Business focuses on combining sport, business and networking in order to enable sports-loving business people to connect with each other for the benefit of their businesses and the business community. They believe that “people do business with people they like, trust and who they share a common interest with, and sport has a way of connecting with people and is a great way of bringing communities together.”

Chatham has been in business for more than 25 years and we’re also proud of our links with the sporting world. Our most obvious link, due to our reputation for designing premium quality boat shoes, sailing shoes and sailing boots, is with the world of sailing and watersports.

We currently sponsor Sam Matson, who has just topped off a successful 2015 Classe Figaro Bénéteau season with a fantastic thirteenth place in La Solitaire du Figaro – Eric Bompard Cachemire, and Chatham is the official footwear sponsor of the 2015 Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week. We also sponsor youth sailing charity UKSA and we’re the official footwear providers for Swim the Big Blue.

We have four extremely successful sports people as our brand ambassadors - Heather Fell, William Fox-Pitt, Haydn Thomas and Neil Clark. Neil is also one of Fit For Business’s brand ambassadors. We are also the Footwear Partner of Arden Motorsport (GP2, GP3 and WSA) and Chatham was an Official Advertiser at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials earlier this year.

Fit For Business – Programmes and Support

Founded by Liam Mooney in 2013, Fit For Business organises talks, events and workshops, and runs a superb Business After Sport mentoring service. This service is designed to help athletes with entrepreneurial talents to set up and develop their own businesses by enabling them to access practical assistance, as well as mentors with sports backgrounds or who use the best practices of sport within their own businesses and mentoring. The organisation also runs a Sport in the Community programme which aims to help more disadvantaged children to participate in sport.

Fit For Business’s global brand ambassadors include many well-known names from the world of sport including Elin Haf Davies, Apollo Perelini, Claire Purdy, Ian Walker, Pedrie Wannenburg and Roy Gumbs – as well as Dubai-based artist and blogger, Jim Wheat, and motivational speaker, triple amputee and former Royal Marines Commando, Mark Ormrod MPSA.

Last month, Fit For Business also announced that it would be supporting Help4Henry, a campaign which is close to our hearts, as one of its official charities.
