Chase Resourcing are now recruiting for a state-of-the-art healthcare facility in Qatar. The facility is a high quality flagship addiction and substance abuse treatment centre in the Middle East.

Our client will be recognised on a global scale for the treatment and rehabilitation of substance abusers, provision of specialised healthcare, teaching and research.

Job Title: Nurse (Addiction and Substance abuse)

Reports To: Consultant (Clinical)

ROLE:

The Nurse will contribute to the multidisciplinary assessment of the needs of clients with addiction problems by working with individual clients, their family and careers, and various client groups in a therapeutic setting to aid and maintain recovery. The post-holder will contribute to a therapeutic program and therapeutic strategies tailored to one or more specific sub-groups: adults – general, adults – acute (complex needs) and young people less than 18 years of age.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Care for clients experiencing acute mental distress or who have an enduring mental illness

Build relationships with clients to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns and to discuss the best way to plan and deliver their care.

Ensure the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitor the results of treatment

Participate in group and/or one-to-one therapy sessions, both individually and with other health professionals.

Provide evidence-based individual therapy, such as cognitive behaviour therapy, for depression and anxiety.

Encourage clients to take part in art, music, drama or occupational therapy where appropriate.

Organize social events aimed at developing clients’ social skills.

Produce care plans and risk assessments for individual clients.

Ensure that the legal requirements appropriate to a particular setting or group of clients are observed.

Assess capacity and obtain informed consent and, where clients lack capacity to consent, to have the ability to work within a legal and ethical framework.

Promote a ‘recovery’ based approach to care.

Attend multidisciplinary case meetings to plan and review on-going treatment.

Develop and evaluate service provision for clients.

Participate in applied research, adding to the evidence base of practice in addictions and related areas.

Teach, undertake an agreed program of continuing professional development and attend conferences or seminars to increase the personal and collective understanding of mental, emotional and behavioural states or disorders.

Maintain appropriately detailed records to monitor the progress of clients’ treatments.

Assist in the recruitment of staff, talent and skills for all clinical services in conjunction with Human Resources.

Contribute to a positive work and learning environment by promoting teamwork, co-operation and harmonious relationships amongst colleagues.

Assume any other responsibilities and functions as directed by the Consultant and CEO within the scope of the post.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED

Accredited Bachelor degree in Nursing or equivalent professional nursing qualification.

Five years of recent relevant experience in the addictions/mental health field.

Knowledge of models of addiction.

Expert knowledge of nursing as applied to the addictions/mental health field.

Knowledge of psychosocial addiction treatment approaches.

Knowledge of clinical mental health and psychiatric fields with demonstrable experience of one or more of the following fields: general psychiatry, addictions, dual diagnosis, child and adolescent mental health.

Knowledge of mental health recovery models.

Demonstrable skills in the safe and therapeutic administration of medication.

Knowledge and skills in one-to-one and group therapy modalities.

10.  Demonstrable skills in identifying whether and when clients are at risk of harming themselves or others.

11.  Demonstrable skills in evidence-based individual therapy, e.g. cognitive behavior therapy for depression and anxiety.

12.  Demonstrable skills in developing and providing person-centered approaches in addictions/mental health.

13.  Service improvement experience and knowledge of service improvement methodologies.

14.  Fluent spoken and written Arabic and English.
