Levine Museum of the New South, at 200 East 7th Street, is offering a free history program, The Movement Makers, on Thursday, February 11th, 2016, at 6 p.m. It’s free to attend and you can park at 7th Street Station for free for two hours. Bring down your parking ticket for validation at the museum. Register is required.

What does it take to make a movement for social change successful then and now?

Levine Museum Historian Brenda Tindal moderates a conversation among former Charlotte mayor Harvey Gantt, Nashville sit-in veteran Sandra Luster-Harper, Friendship 9 “Jail No Bail” sit-in campaign participant Clarence Graham, Cops & Barbers founder Shaun Corbett and community activist Danielle Adele Hilton. Together they’ll reflect on their personal experiences and what makes a social movement.
