#Chevrolet TrailBlazer: First unveiled in India at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, the Chevrolet TrailBlazer was launched in October this year. It is a hard-core SUV, based on the American Colorado pick-up truck. The car replaces the Captiva and adds to Chevrolet’s portfolio in India. The Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV is powered by a 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder, diesel engine that puts out 197bhp and 500Nm of maximum torque. It has a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Chevrolet has offered the TrailBlazer as a rear-wheel drive (RWD).

#Fiat Abarth Avventura: It is the most powerful crossover in the country and Fiat has offered it available in two colours – pearl white and exotica red. The Abarth version has a ground clearance of 205mm and its 1.4 litre Jet petrol engine delivers 140bhp. The Abarth Avventura can go from 0-100km/h in 9.9 seconds and has a wonderful drivability.

#Renault Kwid: Kwid from Renault, the French automaker is company’s first vehicle based on the all new CMF-A platform which has been developed under Nissan-Renault alliance. The Kwid has 800cc petrol engine derives its power from a newly developed 800cc petrol unit, which too has been jointly developed by Nissan and Renault. Kwid competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, Hyundai Eon, etc. It was launched with a price tag starting Rs. 3 lakh.

#Mahindra TUV: With a price range of Rs. 6.98 lakh to Rs. 9.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Mahindra TUV 300 takes on the likes of Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Creta and others in the league. With total 7 variants across three trims – T4, T6 and T8, TUV has been powered by a 1.5-litre mHawk80 engine, with either a 5-speed manual or an automated manual transmission (AMT) and churning out 84bhp and 230Nm.

#Maruti Suzuki S-Cross: S-Cross is Maruti Suzuki’s first ever premium crossover. It was introduced in the price of range Rs. 8.34 lakh – Rs. 13.74 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Its biggest competitors are Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra Scorpio and other such SUVs falling in the same price bracket. The S-Cross comes with two engine options – 1.3-litre multijet & 1.6-litre multijet – both of which have been sourced from Fiat.

The company has been selling this vehicle in several international markets under Dacia badge for quite some time, but in India it has come under Renault. Honda Mobilio, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova form a tough competitor for Lodgy in Indian market.

DC Avanti: The DC Avanti has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 35.93 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).This 2 door and 2 seated sports car measures 4,550 mm in length, 2,120 mm in width and 1,200 mm in height and weighs 1, 580 kg. With a wheelbase of 2, 700 mm, Avanti has a ground clearance of 155 mm and a turning radius of 6 metres. LED lighting & projector headlamps, central locking, electrically adjustable ORVMs, power steering & windows, leather mounted seats are its basic features. It has a space frame chassis and roll cage. It has an electronically restricted maximum speed of 200 kph.
