Champaign Park District
The Champaign Park District offers a variety of camps for children ages 3 through teens!

Extended Pre-School Camp (ages 3-5):  Preschoolers will continue to enjoy indoor & outdoor activities, arts, crafts and storytime (children will take turns bringing snacks). Parents may choose both sessions to create a full day; a different activity will be provided each day!

Dates:  8/3-8/7; 8:30am-12pm, 12-3:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Fun for all ages with Champaign Park District

Day Camps (ages 5-13):  These camps will keep your  grade-school children active and learning throughout the summer!  Inclusion services offered. Different themes include:  Leonhard Day Camp, Douglass Day Camp, Creative Kids Day Camp, Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation Summer Day Camp (Age 5-22), Girls Explore Camps (4th-7th Grade, focus on STEAM learning), Prairie Farm Barnyard Farm Camp.

Dates: Most camps begin the week of June 1 and run through August 14, with a few camps early and late in the season. Typical camp hours are 7:30am-5pm.

First Christian Church Summer Care

Summer Care is a fun-filled, 10-week child care program where kids are active in many fun activities such as trips to iPower, Skateland, the movies, and the park! You can register your child for all 11 weeks or for just a few! Part-time options are also available for three days per week.

Dates:  June 8 – August 14; Drop off is anytime after 7:30 am, pick up is before 5:30.

Parent Comment:  The leaders work hard to create a safe and fun atmosphere where the kids are exposed to a variety of experiences and activities that they look forward to each week. The summers my kids spent at Summer Care were more than just a summer at a day care – they made lasting friendships and heard lessons that have stuck, and for that I’m extremely grateful.

The Little Gym!

Our Super Kids camps are adventure-filled three-hour camps for kids 3-12 years old. Each camp is theme based with creative storylines that incorporate exercise, imagination and cooperation skills. New grade-school specific Skill Thrill Camps are also offered! Every camp will have theme specific games, activities and crafts! Parents love that their kiddos are in a fun, safe environment!!!

Dates:  Camps Start June 8 and run every week until August 21. Camps are offered every week at the following times: Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 9 a.m. -12 p.m. ; Tuesday/Thursday: 1 – 4 p.m.

Amara Kids Art and Yoga Camp

Amara Kids Art and Yoga Camp

Summer camp at Amara will be a blend of art and yoga in a fun and relaxed environment. All art activities will be open–ended and provide an opportunity for the kids to be themselves without the fear of failure. Kids will learn basic yoga elements through focused breathing, play, storytelling, balance and creative visualization. Sign up for one week or more.

Parent Comment:  My children have attended Amara Yoga & Arts for kids for the second year and they absolutely love the relaxed and fun atmosphere of the studio. During their art classes on Saturday mornings, the children have a chance to freely explore and express their creativity with a variety of media in 2D and 3D. Mathnasium

Mathnasium offers 2 or 3 sessions a week to help your child during the summer

Mathnasium is a learning center with qualified instructors, one-on-one guidance, and individualized learning plans. While tutors help students get through homework, our role as a learning center is to uncover why homework is difficult and bridge those gaps. We work on foundational learning by first assessing each student to discover precisely where help is needed. Then our premier teaching method empowers students to excel in school.

Class Act

Class Act offers a variety of opportunities for students who enjoy acting, singing, creating and performing. Camps range from the popular Broadway Babies Camp (grades K-1) to TeenProv (new for high schoolers). All camps and workshops are taught by professional educators Kat Downs, Jaclyn Loewenstein and Donna Warwick. Each session culminates with a performance on the SoDo Theatre stage.   New this summer: iPad Digital Art Camp!

Champaign County Forest Preserve District

Summer Fun with the CChampaign County Forest Preserve District

We are stewards of our county’s natural and historic resources through conservation, education and the compatible outdoor recreation experiences we provide at Champaign County’s Forest Preserves.

Dates:  June 8-July 25; different themes include:  Eco-adventures Day Camp, Survivor Camp, Tiny Tot Garden Adventures, Garden Adventures, Archaeology Camp, Oh What a Vision Full Day Camp, Native American Full Day Camp, Golf Lessons & Golf Camp.

Parent Comment:  “Let me just say how much Amara loved camp today! She got in the car at pickup and said “I just need a moment to think. Most Urbana Park District camps include field trips and swimming!

Urbana Park District

Several camps to choose from: Nature Day camp for Pre-K through age 12, Sports & Aquatics Camp or Summer Arts Camp ages 5-12, There are options for after camp care where kids can stay until 5:30pm. Also a service-based camp for middle schoolers called Teen Camp. Plus, there are specialty camps such as Construction and Science Camp. Most camps include field trips and swimming at park district pools. Camp shirts and daily snacks are included in camp fees. You can register for all camps online (click the green box)

NGS Summer Day Camp

Next Generation School Summer Camp

Next Generation School Summer Day Camp has been redesigned and has new management! Our camp offers a unique combination of structured and unstructured activities. The new format allows children who need a full-time care option to enjoy their summer and relax a bit, but never grow bored of the ever-changing activities. Regular weekly activities include field trips, swimming, outdoor adventures, cooking projects, science classes, physical education classes, crafts, drama and music, in addition to sport activities both in the gymnasium and outside!

Dates:  June 1 to June 26, June 29 to July 31 and August 3 to August 7.

All camps are from 9-4 with early and after care available from 7:30-9:00 and 4:00-5:30.*Parents are welcome to drop off or pick up their camper at any point during the day*

Themes:  Besides, our traditional camp we are also offering STEAM Studio Summer Camp.  Through these week-long enrichment camps, students will have the opportunity to explore themes based on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. The four STEAM Studio themes this summer are: Playground Science, Budding Botanist, Ancient Egypt Exploration, and Zoom, Zoom, Invent! Campers will be: mummifying chickens as they study Ancient Egypt, creating 3D models of their ultimate park based on their physics data, engineering hot air balloons with their inventive designs, starting their very own herbarium as they visit local parks, and much more in these inquiry based camps.

La Petite Academy Great Escape Summer Camp!

Are your kids ready for a Great Escape Summer Camp? At La Petite Academy, children have all the fun that comes with summer while learning skills to help them grow. School-agers participate in a variety of activities each week, with plenty of amazing things to discover about the week’s theme. Summer camp at La Petite Academy is perfect for younger children too! During June, July and August, your younger child will continue to learn and grow with fun themed activities and special guests.

Soccer Planet Summer Camps

Soccer fun for ages 4-17 at Soccer Planet

In the Lil’ Kickers skills camp, your children (ages 4-8) will learn the basics of soccer while having a blast on the field! Our great coaches will lead creative, age-appropriate, high energy games that will ensure an amazing soccer experience. Soccer Planet High School Soccer camps (for students entering 9th-12th grade) are designed to prepare players for their upcoming season and give them an advantage by reviewing their skills involved in the game. Our Youth Soccer Camp (for students entering 3rd-8th grade) will focus on technical and tactical development of each player; including dribbling, passing & receiving, finishing and defending.

Champaign Gymnastics Academy

These half-day camps are perfect for any child who wants to explore gymnastics in a safe and fun environment! All levels of gymnastics ability are welcome. Camps will be led by our qualified and talented camp staff. Children will have an opportunity to learn gymnastics skills on all of the Olympic events, as well as participate in confidence-building games and themed crafts. C4A Creative Action Camps

Arts Camp:  A variety of week-long camps for kids interested in active, performance-oriented creative endeavors like circus, flow arts, magic, and theater.

Music Camp:  Also a music camp for young children with no experience needed, and lots of music camps for kids who already play.  Some themes include:  Beatles, Rock,or Jazz–Fiddling–Classical Orchestra and Chamber Music–Songwriting or Music Reading.

Each C4A camp is taught by a team of professional adult instructors; limited enrollment ensures that all campers receive lots of attention.

Tap In Leadership Academy’s Summer Enrichment Program

Tap In offers a relationship-centered, hands on Summer Enrichment Program. Our students embark on a three-week multicultural journey; focusing on a different region of the world each week. Each enrichment activity is designed to expand on old skills, and develop new ones through creative, S.T.E.A.M. based activities. Students are given the opportunity to build new friendships, advance academic and literary achievement, release some energy outdoors, and incorporate leadership skills through our diverse, adventure-filled curriculum. Previous activities include: a study of Brazil, Egypt and Traditional Native American culture. Along side a cultural expert, students created masks, head dresses, rain sticks and drums; cooked a variety of ethnic foods; participated in traditional ritual dances and martial arts; recreated culturally specific games and experimented with creating hieroglyphics and make-up. Exciting field studies have included the Community FabLab, UI Pollinatarium, Krannert Center, St. Louis Zoo, American Obstacle for zip-lining and much more!

Camp Kiwanis Girl Scouts Camp

This 55 acre wooded site sits adjacent to Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve and is bordered by the Sangamon River. It is perfect for first time campers as it includes three winterized lodges with fireplaces, electricity, bathrooms (inside or nearby), and kitchen facilities. Platform tents are available with a fire circle for outdoor cooking. Hiking trails are nearby.

Illini Swish Girls Basketball Camp

Illini Swish Girls Basketball Camp

Jamie Blue, current college basketball player and former News Gazette All-Area Player of the Year, is conducting her 4th annual basketball camp for girls in 1st – 9th grades. She has designed the camp to teach girls the game of basketball through fun and exciting games and skill work. No previous experience needed to be in the camp; just come, have fun, and learn about the game of basketball.

Dates: June 8th-12th. 1st-4th grade times will be from 10:00 AM to noon and 5th-9th grade times will be from noon to 2:00 PM. Camp fee is $50/camper. Camp is limited to 25 campers per session.

I-Power School of Gymnastics

I-Power offers half day as well as full day camps that will keep your child active, engaged, and physically fit over the summer! Each week brings an opportunity for your child to expand their knowledge in sports. Skills will be taught on vault, bars, bean, and floor, as well as trampoline and tumble trak. Each week will include crafts and activities related to the theme of the week. All camps are taught by experienced, professional I-Power Gymnastics Staff members.
