Northern Health has discovered scammers are using their name for a couple of scams.

There are reports that there’s a person in Prince George claiming to be with Northern Health, despite having no identification.

The person says they’re conducting air quality surveys, and will request access to the person’s home.

Northern Health says they don’t conduct door-to-door survey work, or if they do come to your home, it’s with a pre-booked appointment.

If someone does come to your door saying they’re from Northern Health, take down their name and call Northern Health to confirm who they are, or phone the RCMP.

Another scam using Northern Health is the recruitment scam.

People have been impersonating Northern Health employees in order to obtain personal information.

Northern Health doesn’t hire through social media, by phone or text; and they don’t collect personal information by those means either.

If you think you may have been contacted by someone impersonating a Northern Health employee, please call 1-877-905-1155 (toll free) to report the incident.
