New Franklin vs Harrisburg Girls Basketball
New Franklin’s Grace Hundley tied a game high with 10 points as the Lady Bulldogs topped Harrisburg 46-39 to win the Class 2 District 7 girls championship.
Harrisburg vs Westran Boys Basketball
Westran senior Matt Edwards had another big night, scoring a game high 31 points and helping the Hornets win their first district title since 1999 with a 62-60 victory over Harrisburg.
Cairo vs Monroe City Girls Basketball
Monroe City freshman Jada Summers scored 19 points and grabbed about 20 rebounds in an upset over
top-seeded Cairo. The freshman dominated the offensive glass all afternoon.
Louisiana vs Canton Boys Basketball
Canton’s Koy Smith struggled in the semifinals but responded with 17 points and double-figure rebounds in the championship.

New Franklin vs Harrisburg Boys Basketball
Harrisburg junior Brendan Gray hit three three-pointers in the opening minutes of the Bulldogs’ 73-55 win over New Franklin. He finished with a game high 18 points and helped Harrisburg advance to the Class 2 District 7 championship game.
Salisbury vs Westran Boys Basketball
Westran senior Matt Edwards scored 24 points as the Hornets beat Salisbury 49-47 in double overtime to clinch a spot in the Class 2 District 7 title game.
February 24th
Monroe City vs Paris Girls Basketball
Monroe City guard Delanie Okenfuss avoided turnovers against Paris’ pressure defense. Okenfuss scored 11 points and notched six steals in a 38-33 win. The sophomore made seven free throws in a tight contest.
Monroe City vs Canton Boys Basketball
Canton senior Logan Brown drilled six 3-pointers and finished with 27 points in a 57-55 victory.

Bevier vs Community R-6 Boys Basketball
Bevier over Community 56-54 in double overtime. Player of the game Colby Peukert of Bevier who scored 29 points and sent the game into the second overtime with a steal at midcourt and layup.

Wellsville over Atlanta 65-33. Player of the game Jacob Ussery of Wellsville with 19 points including 3 three-pointers.

Monroe City freshman Jada Summers scored a career high 31 points as the Lady Panthers topped Louisiana 72-40 in a district quarterfinal.

Monroe City’s C.E. Talton tied a game high with 14 points, helping the Panthers knock off Paris 64-39 in a district quarterfinal.
Madison vs Brashear Girls Basketball
Tressa Morris of Madison had 10 pts, including two big threes that sparked the team in the third quarter.

Moberly at Boonville Girls Basketball
Boonville sisters Abbie and Jamie Lemmons received co-honors with a combined 24 points and 22 rebounds as the Lady Pirates beat the Lady Spartans 63-45. Senior Abbie Lemmons scored a season-high 12 points to go along with a season-high nine rebounds in her final home game.

Moberly’s Daran Gaines drilled a pair of key 3-pointers when Boonville threatened the Spartans lead in the third quarter. Gaines scored all 10 of his points in the second half of Moberly’s 80-64 victory.

La Plata senior Kalie Lene scored 13 points and surpassed 1,000 career points for the Lady Bulldogs in a 59-41 home win over Green City.
Green City at LaPlata Boys Basketball
La Plata’s Trevor Pipes scored the game’s first six points and finished with a game-high 17 in the Bulldogs’ 55-49 victory against Green City.
Knox County at North Shelby Girls Basketball
Knox County’s Jessica Anderson, tied for high scorer with 14 points. She scored 10 of her 14 in the second half and helped her team to a 49-42 win.
Knox County at North Shelby Boys Basketball
Knox County’s Noah Tindal led all scorers with 20 points. Had numerous steals and helped open up the offense to lead his team to a 48-23 victory over the Raiders
Hannibal at Moberly Boys Basketball
Moberly freshman Braeden Wetrich hit 5 three-pointers and scored 18 in the Spartans’ 71-65 win over Hannibal. He scored 14 of those points in the first half helping Moberly to a ten point lead at the break.
February 10th
Madison at Paris Girls Basketball
Paris Lady Coyotes forward Drew Lockhart scored a game-high 14 points in a 48-19 win. The sophomore added six rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.
Madison at Paris Boys Basketball
Dylan Painter scored a career-high 24 points and also surpassed 500 career points in the Coyotes victory. Painter also recorded six rebounds and four assists for Paris.

Moberly at Kirksville Girls Basketball
Kirksville’s Haleigh Simler had 10 pts (seven above average) in the win over Moberly.

Palmyra at Monroe City Girls Basketball
Palmyra’s Kaley Augspurg scored 10 points, including four crucial free throws in the final minute to ice a 43-40 win over Monroe City.

Palmyra’s Peyton Plunkett had 19 points and played stout defense down the stretch of a tightly contested 55-53 win over Monroe City.

Community’s Samm Jett scored a game high 23 points as the Lady Trojans held off Westran 53-45 in a game at MACC.

Westran Senior Matt Edwards scored a career high 34 points in the Hornets’ blowout 77-46 win over Community at MACC.
February 5th
Bucklin/Macon Co R-4 at Higbee Girls Basketball
BMC’s Cheyenne Peterson scored 20 second-half points in a 74-65 win at Higbee. The junior hit four 3-pointers despite a large wrap on her right wrist. Peterson returned to the lineup in late January after she missed six weeks due to a broken bone suffered in the third game of the season. Peterson earned
KRES Player of the Week honors.
Bucklin/Macon Co R-4 at Higbee Boys Basketball
Higbee’s Will Clark recorded his 1,000th career point in a 95-66 win. The junior finished with a career-high 37 points along with six assists and three steals.
New Franklin at Salisbury Girls Basketball
New Franklin’s Kacie White had a team-high 12 points, 4-5 FT’s including 2-2 in overtime.

Marshall’s Kassidy Heying scored 10 points and had numerous steals as the Lady Owls beat Moberly 54-42.

Moberly freshman Braeden Wetrich scored 22 points as the Spartans held off Marshall 77-71.
Salisbury at Westran Girls Basketball
Former KRES Player of the Week Maddy Denslow gashed Salisbury’s zone defense from outside. The Westran guard scored 13 points on four 3-pointers. The sophomore added three assists and three steals.
