With around 15 days to go before the journey begins, Matt has provided us with a day by day breakdown of what he and the team will face:
Day 1
London to Calais – 18 June
The revolution starts here. We will gather in the early morning by the Royal Observatory in Greenwich Park before setting off on the 500km experience of a lifetime. All riders will set off as one massive peloton as we begin the first leg of this epic journey. We will also have the opportunity to test your competitive spirit with a timed hill climb.
Day 2
Calais to Abbeville – 19 June
After breakfast, it’s back on the bikes for the next stage of the challenge. Heading through the historic Pas de Calais and Somme regions, you will take on the hills (yes there are some) of Northern France. We will also be supported throughout the day by the motorcycle outriders who ensure we are able to proceed without having to stop for traffic.
Day 3
Abbeville to Beauvais – 20 June
This is a slightly shorter day in overall distance but still with some challenging hills to contend with. We will experience another time trial section and a timed hill climb to continue to test our competitive nature and riding ability. The day will finish with a reception in Beauvais, before heading to out hotels for the night.
Day 4
Beauvais to Paris – 21 June
The final day of the ride is exhilarating. We will set off in your speed groups and one final timed hill climb before joining together after lunch as one enormous peloton for the final stretch into Paris. Together, we will arrive under rolling road closures riding up the cobbles to the Arc de Triomphe and then onto the finish line beside the Eiffel Tower.
