On Friday, November 8th from 6pm to 10pm, Saturday, November 9th from 530pm to 930pm, followed by an invite only VIP reception, and Sunday, November 10th from 4pm to 7pm, POP Gallery (www.popgalleryorlando.com) at Downtown Disney® West Side at The Walt Disney World® Resort will host Internationally renowned artist Fabio Napoleoni for the grand unveiling of new and exclusive original works to be revealed on the opening night of the art show entitled, “Love’s a Kick in the Head” featuring original paintings and drawings inspired by music from the Rat Pack (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., etc.)
The Art Show will feature five new original paintings, by Fabio, including “Amore” a painting exclusive to POP Gallery, three pen & ink drawings, and an homage piece to Artist Keith Herring, featuring Fabio’s cast of characters. Fabio says, “’Amore’ is based on a song by that same title recorded by Dean Martin in 1953. The Moon, the stars, the bottle of wine and the pasta are all mentioned in the song. I have Marcenivo playing the mandolin since its the most noticeable sound in the song outside of Dean’s smooth voice, plus wanted to give the impression that Marcenivo is actually singing the song out loud for the world to hear.” “Amore” will be available only at POP Gallery as a limited edition giclee on canvas, a limited edition of Artist Proof’s, and a limited edition of signed and numbered lithographs.
On the first night of the show, Fabio and gallery representatives will unveil these new original artworks, and encourage guests to interact with Napoleoni. As a Gallery & Champagne Bar, sparkling wine and champagne will be available for purchase.
Fabio Napoleoni, who will be joining POP Gallery from his home state of Maine, and will be available at POP Gallery to personalize or dedicate artwork, and interact with guests. On his last visit to POP Gallery during the Festival of the Masters presented by Michaels® at Downtown Disney® in 2012, all seven original artworks created exclusively for POP Gallery for the art show entitled “Treasures of Youth: Moments from Childhood” sold on opening day.
POP Gallery at Downtown Disney® West Side is proud to represent visionary artist Fabio Napoleoni, and offers one of the largest selections of Napoleoni originals, prints, limited edition artist proofs, and sculptures made available to collectors today. POP Gallery is located at Downtown Disney® West Side, directly across from Wolfgang Puck® Café and Bongos Cuban Café™, and between AMC Theatres and the new Splitsville™ bowling lanes.
Inspired greatly by Picasso, Van Gogh and Jackson Pollock, Napoleoni believes Art is all about evoking emotion. Known for his vibrant and bold use of color, Fabio’s comment to his own color palate is “Sorrow, compassion and hope are my primary colors.”
Much has influenced Fabio’s artwork, but none more than the traumatic events that followed the birth of his second child. His daughter was born with major heart abnormalities and had to undergo multiple surgeries to allow her to have a future. From this experience, Fabio has created the work we see today, filled with emotion, sorrow, compassion, and hope. Fabio’s daughter lives today, and will forever in his work.
Staying true to himself, and keeping his work personal, Fabio’s art is now exhibited prominently across the globe with POP Gallery at The Walt Disney World® Resort, a flagship representative for Napoleoni.
