Survey shows “trust in leadership” matters most to employees
MADISON, Wisconsin — Sept. 29, 2016 — Centare, the Midwest’s leading provider of software development, agile coaching & training, and technology consulting, has been named among the “Best Places to Work” for 2016 in the Greater Madison area by Madison magazine.
Centare ranked in the Top 10 for businesses with 10 to 50 employees in the annual survey, honoring companies for their efforts to attract and retain good employees.
“We are thrilled to be selected as one of the best places to work in Madison,” said Andy Hall, director of consulting at Centare’s Madison office. “This recognition really speaks to our company culture and how we approach our work.”
This year, small business employees rated trust in senior leadership as the most important contributing factor to their satisfaction level. Hall says that unless a company builds a foundation of trust, you will not be working together on a shared common goal.
“I like talking with our people and taking an interest in what they do – not only at work, but outside of work as well. Trust also involves supporting employees as they learn new skills and identifying their future goals. A good dose of empathy also helps a company understand what challenges their workers are facing and how to better help them succeed.”
While the tech industry can be a difficult job market to navigate for new hires in the Madison area, Centare expects to hire as many as 15 new employees by the end of 2017.
The 60-question web-based survey, conducted by Quantum Workplace of Omaha, Nebraska, helped determine the top business winners from more than 120 nominations. It focused on six key areas to establish which companies are best at employee engagement, and included rankings on manager effectiveness, individual needs, team dynamics and trust in leadership.
