And God said, “Let there be a reality TV show about Kimye’s hot pastor.” And it was so.
You may not recognize this little Bible passage, but it’s true: Rich Wilkerson Jr., the pastor who married Kim Kardashian and Kanye West this year, will be starring in his own reality series.
Tentatively titled The Wilkersons, the new Oxygen series will follow 30-year-old Rich and his wife DawnCheré as they spread the gospel at Trinity Church in Miami. That sounds…enlightening?
Wilkerson Jr., who has the faith of a disciple and the face of an A-lister, hails from a family of pastors. He and Kimye struck up an unlikely relationship after the couple attended his service back in 2012 – a true testament to the fact that Yeezus knows another man of God when he sees one.
Wilkerson Jr. and his wife “are ready to share their innovative and thought-provoking ministering with both the believers and non-believers,” states an official press release.
I’m not sure that “thought-provoking ministering” and “must-watch reality TV” really mesh conceptually, but go ahead, Oxygen. Show us the light.
