Strictly’s at war with X Factor… already

Ding ding! The war for bums on sofas on Saturday nights has well and truly begun – and the first shade has officially been thrown.

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Will Young has revealed he’s not a fan of The X Factor judge Louis Walsh, and hasn’t been for over seven years. But then again, Louis doesn’t like Will either.

Back in 2009, Pop Idol runner up Will called Louis “a complete c*nt” during an interview on fancy arty TV programme The South Bank Show. And, like an elephant, Louis never forgets.

At The X Factor launch last month, Louis Walsh claimed he didn’t recognize the names of the majority of this year’s celebrity contestants on Strictly. “I don’t know who most of them are,” he insisted. ”I really don’t know who they are. There’s not many big celebrities.”

So when Now asked Will for a response to Louis’ unkind words at the launch of Strictly last week, he told us, “I’ve got nothing to say to Louis Walsh.”

Fellow contestant Ed Balls then stepped in to support his new pal, asking,”[Louis doesn’t know] any of us? We don’t know who he is! I think there’s bound to be some competition between the shows and they’re going to send out their spokespeople to do their bits.” Who could they be talking about other than Louis Walsh, whose obviously best mates with X Factor showrunner Simon Cowell. Simon’s got beef with Will too.

Back in 2012 Simon branded Will “pretentious”. And as if that wasn’t enough to get Will riled up, Simon added that he felt sick every time Will was on TV. Not nice.

Despite that, Will admitted he would’ve been up for being on the judging panel last year. “It would make brilliant TV. We’d just argue all the time. Can you imagine?” Yep, we totally could…

Daisy’s tan ban and big pants

Strictly’s infamous for its numerous sheet-ruining spray tans, but it looks like one of this year’s lot is staying away from the spray gun – Daisy Lowe has said no to dancing several shades darker. “I’ve said that I can’t do the spray tan. I think I’m better as the Snow White thing.”

And she’s put her foot down on showing off her enviable curves in skimoy costumes.

“I said no hip cut outs,” she explains. “They tried to do that on my red carpet outfit, and I was like ‘I’m not sure about this, can I just have some big pants?’”

Brave Anastacia’s body battle

Anastacia, who underwent a double mastectomy in 2013 after being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time, got emotional speaking about her scars and the revealing Strictly costumes. “I’ve talked to the wardrobe about just being aware that these costumes show certain things, and I don’t know if I can really do it,” she says.

But the singer admits it could be a cathartic – and emotional – experience. “I wouldn’t say that this show wouldn’t get me to a higher place, that I might even find my own inner strength to not feel as self conscious about never showing them. But I could potentially cry the entire dance.”

Whitmore: Strictly spy?

It looks like newly single Georgia May Foote might have recruited Laura Whitmore as a pal (and a handy pal at that; to keep an eye on her ex, pro dancer Giovanni Pernice.) New girl Laura and Georgia enjoyed Instaspamming us with their bank holiday girl’s night out, alongside mates Caroline Flack and Ashley Roberts down the pub. It was just a day after Georgia and Giovanni split after less than a year together – so understandably things must be pretty raw. We’ve all been there (but with much fewer sequins involved) and you can’t beat a bit of girl code.
