The most important week of the year is finally upon us! Forget Spring Break. Forget Mardi Gras, New York Fashion Week is here! Tom Ford was one of the first shows to open, completely shutting down the entire Four Seasons Restaurant, in more ways than one. “It Girl” Gigi Hadid opened the coveted show, while fashion veteran Iman Hammam closed the runway, her first appearance since the death of her late husband, David Bowie.
It isn’t a Tom Ford show without a front row overflowing with high profile celebrities. In attendance was Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Neil Patrick Harris, Zayn Malik, LaLa Anthony, and Anna Wintour, to name a handful. The stakes were high for Ford, as he hasn’t presented a collection in New York for two seasons. Fortunately for him, critics are at a consensus that he’s back and better than ever.
His stellar collection goes head to head with another show that recently presented, the not-so-stellar Yeezy Season 4. Regardless of the rave reviews, Kanye’s show still had more star power than a blazing comet. In an Instagram dominated world, 25 million followers can outweigh 25 million rays of talent. Ford just might have to let this one go, as eyes have yet to escape the ever so controversial Kanye West.
