Before Charlie Hunnam there were a ton of rumors about who would play Christian Grey in the much-anticipated film adaptation ’50 Shades of Grey’. Hunnam then accepted the role for about three weeks and we were right back where we started. This week we reported that Jamie Dornan auditioned for the role of Christian. Hopefully, this is the last time we report on Christian Grey. In fact, we can’t remember the last time a role garnered so much attention. With all that said, Jamie Dornan has accepted the role of Christian Grey hopefully putting this entire saga to bed.
Dornan was one of the fan favorites to land the role. The 31-year old soap start doesn’t have an extensive acting history, but was selected over the likes of Alexander Skarsgard, Billy Magnussen, Theo James, Scott Eastwood and Christian Cooke. The rumors surrounding more popular names like Ryan Gosling and Robert Pattinson proved false altogether.
With Dakota Johnson still slated to play Anastasia Steele, filming will begin next month. The movie is anticipated to hit theaters August 1, 2014. I think this is the last we’ll hear from ’50 Shades’ for quite some time…. we hope.
