David Bowie’s 70th birthday is to be commemorated with a series of concerts. The ‘Life on Mars’ hitmaker tragically passed away from liver cancer in January this year just two days after his 69th birthday, and now fans of the late music icon will be able to celebrate what would have been the important milestone with a show performed by some of Bowie’s previous collaborators. The performances will make up a mini-tour named ‘Celebrating David Bowie’, and will kick off at London’s O2 Brixton Academy on January 8 – the day of the ‘Space Oddity’ singer’s birthday – before travelling to New York, Los Angeles, and Sydney, and wrapping up in Tokyo’s Dome City Hall on February 2.
