While she is primarily known for her singing career, she has also starred in a number of acting projects, which eventually helped launch her career in music. As a child, she debuted in the children’s television show called Barney & Friends.

But the opportunity that boosted her career came in 2008, when she landed the lead role in Camp Rock, a television film that aired on the Disney Channel. Her supporting cast included the three Jonas Brothers (Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas) as well as actresses Meaghan Jette Martin and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle.

Her success with Camp Rock led to a contract with the prestigious American record label Hollywood Records.
