The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) was manufactured in 1969 with the Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 in 1968. Initially, the headquarter of this Board was in Shimla but later it was shifted to its current location which is Dharamshala and that is done in January 1983. The Board had started with the staff of 34 officials which was increased to 438. Today The Board has set more than 1650 Examination centers in the state. The Board always wants to care for their students. Currently, the Board conducts examination for the 10th, 10+2, T.T.C and J.B.T and more than 5 Lakhs candidates appeared annually in the examination conducted by the Board.

HP Board conducts class 12th regular examinations in the month of March. This year schedule was also prepared to organize board examination. Nearly 5 lakh of students takes part in this examination to see themselves in college.
