Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education shortly known as HPBSE, Dharamshala is under the Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968 was established in the year 1969. The primitive center of the HP board was in Shimla but later it got shifted to Dharamshala in the month of January 1983. The initial count of the members when it came into existence was only 34, and later it got increased subsequently to some 438 members.
