In connection with the CBS Corporation Diversity Council High School Partnership Initiative, the Council created scholarships for, partner high schools, High School for Environmental Studies in New York and North Hollywood High School in Los Angeles to be awarded to seniors to aid with college expenses. After an application process conducted by the schools and interviews of five finalists conducted by Council members two very impressive and deserving students both in NY and in LA were selected as the scholarship recipients. In award ceremonies in June, council member, Barbara Matos awarded the scholarships at the High School for Environmental Studies. In Los Angeles council members Catrice Monson and Franco Alvarez awarded the scholarships at North Hollywood High School.
