VALLEJO (CBS SF) — Police arrested three 19-year-old Vallejo men for making a false bomb threat and placing a fake bomb under an acquaintance’s vehicle in Vallejo on Thursday afternoon, police said.

At 1:30 p.m. police received a 911 call from a resident in the 100 block of Evelyn Circle, about a block of Solano Junior High School, reporting that he had found a written bomb threat on the windshield of a vehicle in his driveway, police said.

Officers arrived at the scene and discovered a box about 4 by 12 inches was wedged beneath the vehicle.

According to police, the owner of the vehicle said a similar note had been left on his vehicle the week before while it was parked outside his place of employment in Vallejo.

Police evacuated the 100 block of Evelyn Circle and called in the Napa County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad as a precaution.

About an hour and a half after law enforcement officials arrived at the scene, the owner of the vehicle received a phone call and learned that three of his friends had heard about the police activity and were admitting to placing the note and fake bomb on his vehicle as a prank, police said.

The three friends agreed to come to the scene and were taken into police custody.

Vallejo residents Dijon Scott-Ward, Izaak Casey, and William Appling, all 19, were arrested for making a felony bomb threat and booked into the Solano County Jail, according to police.
