MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Congratulations Miami! Amazon has unveiled a list of the top 20 U.S. cities where residents pamper their pets the most and Miami is in the No. 1 spot.
The list was compiled by comparing Amazon.com pet item sales in 2013 on a per capita basis among cities with more than 400,000 residents.
Miami ranked highest for pampering their dogs, cats, birds, aquatic animals and reptiles.The residents of Miami also purchased the most toys overall for their pets, and spoiled their dogs and cats by buying the most apparel and accessories, grooming products and health supplies. In addition, Miami locals spent more money on pet items in 2013 than any other city.

The competition was tough but Amazon also took a closer look at the sale of pet items per state.
In Florida, the following cities ranked highest for pampering their pets. Rankings were tallied based on Amazon.com pet sales per capita, among cities with more than 100,000 residents.
