TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, Pa., (CBS) — Chester County is apparently home to the best school district in America in 2016, according to a website.

Niche.com has released its list of “2016 Best School Districts in America,” and Tredyffrin-Easttown School District takes the top spot at No. 1.

Princeton Public Schools in Princeton, N.J. was ranked No. 5 and North Allegheny School District in Allegheny County, Pa. placed at No. 7.

Niche.com says they ranked more than 100,000 public and private schools and districts based on dozens of statistics and 27 million opinions from 300,000 students and parents.

According to Niche.com, the 2016 Best School Districts ranking takes into account factors such as the strength of academics, quality of teachers, school resources, the quality of student life, as well as student and parent reviews, in an attempt to measure the overall excellence of the district.

At the time of calculation, Niche.com says their database contained records for 12,153 school districts. School districts were not included in the ranking process if they did not have sufficient data, according to the website. Niche.com says the final ranking results in 10,563 school districts receiving a grade, with 10,488 of those also receiving a numerical ranking.

Niche.com also ranked Best High Schools, Best Charter High Schools, Best Public Middle Schools, Best Extracurriculars, Best Sports, and Best Public Elementary Schools among several other categories.
