DIXON (CBS13) – District officials say that Dixon High School was put on lockdown Wednesday morning due to a student with a gun at the nearby park.
According to the Dixon Unified School District, around 9 a.m. the principal of Dixon High was told that there was possibly a student with a gun at Hall Memorial Park.
The school was immediately put on lockdown and police were called.
Officers soon arrived at the park, which is right next to Dixon High School, and found a student with a gun. That student was immediately taken into custody.
The lockdown lasted about 40 minutes, the district says.
The district notes that counseling is available on campus if students need the support.
