It is very necessary to have positive mind and continuously updating it. But for the development of mind it is necessary to understand the mind first. Mind is the energy and information field that flows through every cell of the body and out of the body into the environment. It functions the brain which direct things and signals to do things. It is the facility to consciousness and thought, ability to think and reason. Mind is not a physical thing that can be touched, it is intangible. Mind and brain are different. Brain is physical brain can be repaired by surgery, can be photographed but mind can’t be since we can’t even see it. Sometimes when our body is relaxed our mind is diverted towards different social, materialistic things. A human fact is that humans think that their problems are and sufferings they face are because of other people, by society, but in reality it all comes from our delusional mind. The important point is that peace from the suffering cannot be found outside the mind, it’s all about inner peace and inner peace can be found by purification of mind. It is said that we are connected to everyone, everywhere, and to everything at a level of mind.

Life goes on really fast, where we are always handling so much pressure, and it is very difficult to be present completely in the moment, though you may be focusing on something but still another thing does cross your mind

There are two minds.

Conscious mind: it’s a state of mind where we can handle things according to our will power and thinking. We can be creative and plan things

Unconscious mind: this where all the judgements are made, where are the emotions, reactions and belief system comes from. This also includes learned habits, learned behaviour.

A study states that only 2-4 % of the time we make decisions, where as 96- 98% of the time we don’t it’s our subconscious mind that controls our decisions.

What is the power of your mind?

Comparing mind with the most powerful device created by humans is computer, a computer can store 250,000 pictures, 20 000 songs and hundreds of movies. Where as mind can perform ten quadrillion operation per second from all the things a subconscious mind cant do is differentiate between real event and something you can merely think about. This one limitation can make all the difference it can attract you to good things into your life or it can completely ruin your life. For example when we have a nightmare you wake up with a shock, your heart is pounding , you are sweating nightmare existed in your mind there is nothing bad happening to you but your mind did know that you physiologically reacted to that nightmare as if it was real. For example group A gets a medicine designed to treat an illness whereas group B with same illness is given sugar tablet without them knowing it is a sugar tablet, thinking it is real medicine both groups get cured. Minimum 1/3 of medical treatment is due to the belief that the treatment is going to work (placebo affect).

There is one more thing you need to know is nocebo effect which very rare people realize. It is completely opposite of the placebo effect, where mind instead of curing illness tribute you towards illness just to believe that they are going to develop a disease actually causes them to experience symptoms of it. The root to all problems is mind, mind is an instrument like mobile phones computer to whom if we use efficiently we will get good results and they will be helpful but if it becomes dominating that can become a problem. It’s is you who can control your mind. It’s you who can find out solutions for your problem because we all have different lives, different perspective and different situations. So the one who can understand the situation and problem is you and once you understand the situation and problem it will be easy to find a solution. You can only understand your situation when you have a clear and stable mind. For example while operating a smart phone at one moment if go through lots of applications and opening lots of applications can lead your smartphone to hang, when your phone is hanged you turn it off and turn it on all problems gone, nothing left that is a temporary solution as soon as you try to open that application you phone gets hang again things will go on and on like this until you find a solution for that application similarly we can’t restart our mind all we can do is cover a certain problem with a small pleasurable thing like playing your favorite game, listen to music, going to party or meeting with friends but as soon as you are free and alone again you start thinking about that problem. It is impossible for you to escape your problems. You are required to face them at any cost. It is better to sit calmly and find its solution. You need to train your mind where you can stop as well as do your work with full efficiency. Once you learn how to refresh your mind your efficiency improves 1000 times better.

How to restart your mind

Whenever you think your mind has started dominating you sit down and start focusing on your breath. Breath is always present, there is not any imagination in breath, and even if you want you cannot imagine it. For example if anyone says love some people who believe in love will automatically smile and will have positive reaction towards the sound of love, similarly the one who doesn’t believe in it will get sad or angry with the sound of love and now you say breath there is no sound with it, it’s neutral it has no form. You are one center point with whom a lot many things and people are attached, this attachment can be consciously or unconsciously. A simple fact till the date you know is if this thing or person is not related to me there will be no attachment. No attachment means nothing related to that thing or person will bother you. The time where you understand that you are just playing a role in someone’s life there are no attached feelings and no problems. Clashes happen, they you can avoid clashes once you understand a situation and you can never understand a situation by being in the situation. All you need to do to understand a situation is instead of being part of that situation be a third person and think from that perspective by thinking as a third person you will be able to think from both sides and clashes can be avoided by this . for this you need to sit at one place , see around what is going on and listen what is happening than try to analyze.

Ways to develop mind:

Challenge yourself: always challenge yourself and try to do something that you fear, facing fears and overcoming them will help you to change your thought quickly.

Take a stand: start confronting that is standing up for yourself once you take a stand for your thoughts will be empowered.

Stay quite: staying quite doesn’t means never talk but for some time in a day stop talking and just relax and focus on your breath that will help you to build self-confidence.

Focus on your strengths: trying to strengthen our strength is as much important as trying to change our weaknesses into strength.

Appreciate art: going through an art gallery though you may not like it or understand it but looking at others canvas can give you a little hint of people’s mind

Tie a cloth on your eyes for one whole day: living a life of a blind for whole day can change your viewpoint about life

Disciplining you mind: stand on a chair for 5 mins for whole day. This will make you think what is going on and you will try to get off that chair many times but discipline your mind at that moment and stay strong so that control can be maintained.

Give someone unexpectedly: giving someone something unexpectedly something larger than a donation can be the step to change your life.

Love yourself: loving yourself doesn’t mean being overconfident about yourself, it’s just strengthening thoughts about yourself. Besides focusing of negative see what is good in you and be thankful for that.

Know someone unknown: life is real when you get out of your comfort zone, talk to stranger and try to know a stranger once in a while

Meditation: retreat yourself by meditation, this will calm your mind

Risk embarrassment: You should not be afraid of risks and try the things before it’s too late. It will give you a confidence that at least you tried.

Start observing: for example start noticing people around you, stuck in traffic instead of getting angry and frustrated look around and notice people like this there will always be something interesting going on in your mind

Culture: You should try to learn from other’s culture and values rather than making any assumptions

Language: beside sticking to one or two basic language it is good to stretch your mind with new language by learning new languages you can give alternates of a problem to your brain to frame it in differently way.

Games: play different and new games in your head called mind games for example while traveling you have nothing to do look around count people around you. How many are kids how many are ladies how many are on phones playing and how many are continuously talking on phone etc. these are just general observation no harm.
