The north London club came from two goals down to beat underdogs Hull City 3-2 in Saturday's FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium, the Gunners' first trophy since they won the same competition against Manchester United in Cardiff in 2005.

And now it is understood that their experienced French trainer will be handed a massive transfer war chest this summer as a reward for both guiding the club to victory over the Tigers, as well as for agreeing to remain in charge at the Emirates for another three years, an announcement of which is expected to be made at some point this week.

Meanwhile, one of the first targets that Wenger wants to land is Bayern's coveted Croatia international who is expected to leave the Allianz Arena this summer following the arrival of fellow striker Robert Lewandowski in Bavaria on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund, although Arsenal are not the only club said to be keen on the 27-year-old.
