A collection of players strongly linked with possible moves when the transfer window re-opens.

Check-In to Arsenal v Tottenham

Edin Dzeko: Man City to Arsenal

The 26 year old has been handed just three Premier League starts this season but has still managed to accrue six goals and helped Man City out of a number of delicately poised encounters to secure much needed wins.

Roberto Mancini paid £27m for the former Wolfsburg man but still sees the prolific marksman as behind both Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez in the pecking order.

Wenger is looking to Olivier Giroud to lead the Arsenal line single-handedly after seemingly electing to only use the likes Lukas Podolski, Gervinho and Theo Walcott in wide areas, therefore though the French summer signing has started to up his game there is certainly a need to bring in alternatives and Dzeko may well be tempted by the chance of a new challenge.

Arsenal apparently see Dzeko as an ideal January signing.

Marouane Chamakh: Arsenal to Bordeaux

French source Le Figaro is reporting that Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh is open to a move back to Ligue 1 after seeing his Gunners career edge towards it's end following a woeful spell at the North London club.

The Moroccan international has stated that he would be interested in a move back to Bordeaux and that such a switch could occur in the January transfer window.

The 28 year old forward started his Arsenal career well enough, netting ten goals within the first few months of his free transfer move to the Emirates Stadium after he was handed a first team berth to cover for the then injured Dutchman Robin Van Persie.

However things went from bad to worse as Chamakh's confidence was shocked to pieces by a lengthy run of poor form that saw the striker scored just twice in 42 appearances, albeit most of these coming from the bench.

Marouane Chamakh has seen a return to form of sorts, scoring twice during Arsenal's miraculous 7-5 win over Reading last month. A move away from the club is on the cards and one would imagine Arsene Wenger wouldn't demand all that much from such a sale.

Marouane Fellaini: Everton to Chelsea

24 year old Belgian Marouane Fellaini is in red hot form at present, his displays helping Everton to an excellent start to the season that has seen the Toffees rise to fourth and lose just once in eleven matches.

David Moyes would be loathed to lose such a crucial player but if Chelsea make a £30m offer for the former Standard Liege man then chairman Bill Kenwright may feel he has no choice other than to take the money in order to balance the books of the cash-strapped club.

Fellaini has hinted at his ambition to leave for a 'bigger' club in the recent past and a move to Chelsea would surely tempt the big midfielder and he could well be used in an attacking role behind the Blues front-line, whomever may be leading that role, currently that man being Fernando Torres.

Darren Bent: Aston Villa to Liverpool

Liverpool are reportedly preparing a January bid for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent, who's Villa Park future is in further doubt after the England man was once again left on the bench for in recent matches.

Liverpool have seen their striking options reduced to just one, Luis Suarez, following the broken foot sustained by Italian forward Fabio Borini. Therefore it is imperative that the Merseyside club looks to strengthen their attack in January or face the very real prospect of yet another lean season for the Anfield side.

Bent has been a consistent Premier League marksman for a number of years now, scoring regularly for Charlton Athletic, Tottenham, Sunderland and Aston Villa and the 28 year old forward may well be tempted by the chance of a move to Liverpool, especially given the poor season the Villa Park side had last term and their shaky start to the current campaign.

Adel Taarabt: QPR to Arsenal

Arsenal have long been linked with interest in Moroccan international Adel Taarabt and now speculation about such a move is back on the table. Arsene Wenger is said to be keen on the QPR attacker, who failed to make the grade at Tottenham and left White Hart Lane for Loftus Road in the summer of 2010 after two successful loan spells.

The 23 year old is known for as well known for his ability to make something out of nothing as he is to simply vanish from view for long periods. However the former Lens man has been relatively consistent this term even though his QPR side are still looking to secure their first win of the campaign.

Mark Hughes may be loathed to lose Taarabt but if a decent offer was made for the flair player than the West London side may be forced into considering their options, especially as owner Tony Fernandes may feel the need to balance the books after forking out large sums over the summer on top level additions to the QPR squad.

Ryan Shawcross: Stoke City to Man United

The Chester born defender spent six years at Man United but failed to make the grade, securing just two first team run-outs before his £1m move to Stoke City back in January 2008.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side have been horrific in defence this term but still sit top of the Premier League table due to the fact that Man United's attack have been able to adopt the policy of scoring more than they ship in, but clearly this is not an ideal situation to be in.

Now Man United are said to be in the running to re-sign the 25 year old defender.

Emmanuel Adebayor: Tottenham to Celta Vigo

Portuguese source Fichajes claim newly promoted La Liga side Celta Vigo are interested in signing out of favour Tottenham forward Emmanuel Adebayor.

The 28 year old has started just one Premier League games this season, this despite the fact that he scored goals and provided assists with regularity during his season long loan spell last term.

One has to wonder if Andre Villas-Boas was part of the decision making process that led to the North London side making a permanent move for the Togo international as it seems the Portuguese boss has little or no interest in giving the former Arsenal man a chance to impress.

Whilst Jermain Defoe has started the season well there seems little reasoning behind the decision to purchase a player and then steadfastly refusing to play him.

Theo Walcott: Arsenal to Liverpool

Theo Walcott appears to be attracting a number of prospective suitors as his Arsenal future continues to be in a great deal of doubt. Having not signed a new deal during the summer transfer window it was always likely that things would begin to get a little awkward for the winger at the Emirates Stadium club.

Arsene Wenger has opted to consign the 23 year old England international to he bench until he agrees to a new deal on the terms set out by the North London side. Walcott on the other hand appears to want a bigger pay-packet and a striking role, depending on what speculation you choose to see as accurate.

However when the wide-man has been employed coming off the bench he has made an impact and it may prove tough to continue to leave out the speedy attacker if he shows just what he is capable of.

One does wonder if Walcott would consider a move to Liverpool and would surely not be open to the idea unless Rodgers has helped push his side well away from the drop zone and back in contention for a top four finish.

Rio Ferdinand: Man United to West Ham

West Ham were linked with a fair few big name targets over the summer and whilst they failed in their reported pursuits of star turns like Guti and Alessandro Del Piero, Sam Allardyce did manage to lure Andy Carroll and Alou Diarra to boost his Upton Park squad and now he has set his sights on Man United centre back Rio Ferdinand.

Whilst Sir Alex Ferguson has apparently swiftly patched up his differences with Ferdinand over his decision to protest against the 'Kick it Out' campaign so publicly, there is still scope for a successful West Ham bid.

The 33 year old Old Trafford star is in the last year of his contract and could therefore leave Man United on a free transfer next summer and therefore any offer for Ferdinand's services in January may well be considered.

Mario Balotelli: Man City to AC Milan

Mario Balotelli is wanted by AC Milan - and the Italian club are willing to sell a host of stars in order to fund a move for the Manchester City forward.

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi is clearly on a cost cutting drive and as such may insist further sales are conducted before the San Siro side can make a decent offer for Man City striker Mario Balotelli.

The 22 year old striker may well be ready to return to Serie A after seemingly finding himself as something of a back-up option at Man City.

The young forward will have returned from the Euro 2012 finals buoyed by his fine individual performances and as such will not have been happy to return to the Premier League title holders after a successful summer only to be left warming the Etihad Stadium bench.

Frank Lampard: Chelsea to Guizhou Renhe

Guizhou Renhe owner says Frank Lampard has agreed to January move

Reports from Chinese social media say the Chelsea star will follow in former team-mate Didier Drogba's footsteps with a move to China

If this is indeed true then it may well signal an end of an era for the Chelsea veteran who has served the West London club with distinction for over a decade.

It would be fairly foolish for Guizhou Renhe's owner to make such a statement without it being true so perhaps the 34 year old is ready to join former Blues team-mates Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka in the Chinese Super League.

Whilst Shanghai Shenhua, who employ both Drogba and Anelka, have struggled for form and finished the 2012 season in ninth place, Guizhou Renhe clinched a top four finish.

Lampard has seen his first team opportunities limited this term, managing just four Premier League starts thus far this term and given that the former West Ham man is in the final year of his current deal, with only a one year extension likely to be on offer, a move away from Stamford Bridge in January is a distinct possibility.

The England man has notched up 571 appearances for Chelsea since his £11m move from Upton Park in June 2001, scoring 189 goal in the process.

Roberto Di Matteo has seen youngsters Eden Hazard and Oscar bed in well since their summer moves to the club and the likes of Ramires and Juan Mata have cemented their place in the first team picture leaving little or no room for Lampard in either a central or wide midfield role.

Andrei Arshavin: Arsenal to Reading

One would imagine that if Reading made any sort of offer for the 31 year old winger then Arsene Wenger would gladly accept it. The former Zenit man's time at Arsenal has been something of a damp squib and the experienced attacker has rarely shown anything like the Euro 2008 form that made him the toast of the town some years back.

Now Arshavin is rarely used at all by the North London side who have long since given up on his ability to make a telling contribution for a consistent period. Wenger opts instead to use a myriad of alternative wide options that include the likes of Lukas Podolski, Gervinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and on occasion Theo Walcott.

Andrei Arshavin is apparently very settled in England and a move to Reading may mean the Arsenal man wouldn't have to move at all and as such could be the type of move he would be keen on, not least because it would hand him a chance to secure regular first team football.

Reading could well do with a player of his creative ability though Brian McDermott would hope that Arshavin would up his game in order to be a worthwhile signing.

Brede Hangeland: Fulham to Man United

Man United are something of a defensive shambles as present and Sir Alex Ferguson has recently been linked with interest in big Fulham centre back Brede Hangeland and the Scot will be buoyed by the news that the Craven Cottage side may have to consider offers for the contract rebel in January.

31 year old American born Norwegian international Hangeland is one of the most solid defenders in the Premier League and a player Martin Jol would be loathed to lose. However Fulham have lost a number of their star-turns over the past 18 months and they may indeed have to consider any offer for the 6ft 6in centre-back over the possibility of losing the former FC Copehagen veteran on a free transfer in the summer.

Michel Vorm: Swansea City to Arsenal

The Daily Mail also believe that Wenger will look to strengthen his goalkeeping options as Wojciech Szczesny and Vito Mannone have both dropped clangers this term.

The Dutch international has been very effective between the sticks over the past 18 months and may well be the latest player to consider leaving the Liberty Stadium, having seen Joe Allen and Scott Sinclair leave for Liverpool and Man City.

Demba Ba: Newcastle United to Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers Liverpool attack was already looking threadbare before Fabio Borini, who is yet to make an impact in the Premier League, suffered an injury and a move to bring in Newcastle United striker Demba Ba is a sensible and cost effective one that could well come to fruition, dependent to a large extent on whether other sides look to trigger the Senegal international's release clause.

The 27 year old former Hoffenheim and West Ham man has apparently been upset at Alan Pardew's insistence on using him in a wide attacking role to accommodate international team-mate Papiss Cisse and the fact that the Magpies boss chose to publicly reiterate that Ba's release clause was very much still in operation is proof enough that the relationship between the player and the St James' Park club are by no means ideal.

The chances of Liverpool luring Demba Ba to Anfield depend a great deal on where the Merseyside club are in the Premier League table come January.

Michael Dawson: Tottenham to QPR

QPR had reportedly agreed a £9m deal to sign Tottenham centre back Michael Dawson, only for personal terms to prevent a being completed. This led to the 28 year stating his intention to fight for his place in Andre Villas-Boas's first team and Mark Hughes appears keen to re-ignite his interest in the England international in January.

Dawson has played just two minutes of Premier League football under the new White Hart Lane boss so it would appear that the former Nottingham Forest man is not part of the Portuguese boss's plans and therefore the Tottenham centre back may opt to accept QPR's offer after all.

Though Hughes saw his defence hold up manfully during their goalless draw with local rivals Chelsea, QPR have on the whole looked suspect at the back, conceding 19 goals in ten Premier League matches this term.

Ashley Cole: Chelsea to PSG

Speculation seems to be reaching boiling point in relation to Ashley Cole's Chelsea future. The left-back is not likely to be offered anything longer than a one year extension to his current contract when his deal runs out in the summer and this could well leave the England man vulnerable to being poached by sides willing to hand the 31 year old a more lengthy term.

PSG have been spending huge sums to help make the Parc des Princes side not only domestic title challengers but also a side able to compete for Champions League success.

This plan has worked thus far this term with Carlo Ancelotti's side sitting top of Ligue 1 and on the verge of qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Now Ancelotti wants to lure his former charge to the French capital and given just how much he could offer the former Arsenal man, a deal could well be on the cards.

Nani: Man United to Juventus

Italian source CalcioMercato claim that Antonio Conte, who is back from his ban in December, has targeted Man United winger Nani.

Nani appears to have become surplus to requirements at Man United, no longer a first team regular and apparently unwilling to accept the conditions of a contract offer that is apparently on the table.

Whilst Juventus have overcome all before them over the past 18 months they do arguably lack some attacking momentum and Conte may feel the inclusion of new options in this regard could help them achieve their lofty goals.

Marko Marin: Chelsea to Borussia Monchengladbach

One wouldn't blame Marko Marin for looking to leave Stamford Bridge. His £7m move to the West London club has seemed fairly pointless and the young German international must be wondering why he bothered joining a club that appears to have little or no interest in using his services.

The 23 year old winger hasn't played a single minute of Premier League football for Chelsea and has been an unused sub for the past four fixtures and Roberto Di Matteo may well look to offload the pint sized performer as he doesn't appear to be surplus to requirements.

Chelsea agreed a deal to sign the Werder Bremen man in April and then went on to buy the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Victor Moses and Marin must now be looking to leave the club as soon as possible.

Marin played for Borussia Monchegladbach from 2005 to 2009 and a move back is seemingly on the cards.

Hugo Lloris: Tottenham to ?

Much like Emmmanuel Adebayor the French keeper must wonder why he even bothered to move to White Hart Lane. The 25 year old has been handed just one Premier League start this season and kept a clean sheet in that match but still can't seem to unseat veteran Brad Fridel.

Even Lloris's own national team boss Didier Deschamps has questioned the move the custodian made the move to North London.

Is a move back to France on the cards or perhaps a sale to anywhere would suffice for the former Lyon man.
