Big deals that could come to fruition when the transfer window re-opens.

Check-In to Chelsea v Liverpool

Wilfried Zaha: Crystal Palace to Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has regularly opted to scout the English 'lower leagues' for talent and the Gunners boss is perhaps one of the Premier League manager's who does so most frequently. The likes of the aforementioned Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey and Carl Jenkinson have all been brought in from the Championship and League One and all have made a real impact at the Emirates Stadium.

Zaha already has amassed over 100 Crystal Palace appearances and though just 19 years of age the Ivory Coast born starlet already has five England Under 21 caps to his name.

The Daily Mail believe the North London side want the young winger.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar: Schalke to Liverpool

According to CalcioMercato Liverpool are lining up a £6m bid for Schalke forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who may well be the ideal man to help boost the club's threadbare attack.

Brendan Rodgers was left with just two senior strikers when he packed Andy Carroll off to West Ham in the vein hope that deadline day signings would resolve the problem, those deadline day deals didn't however materialize.

Now that Fabio Borini has broken his foot Rodgers has to rely on Luis Suarez, who has thus far managed to shoulder the burden, netting ten goals in all competitions this season. However assistance is needed and Huntelaar could well be a cost effective solution to the problem.

James Rodriguez: FC Porto to Man United

21 year old Colombian James Rodriguez has been a huge success since his move to FC Porto from Argentine side Banfield and Sir Alex Ferguson will have been dismayed to hear the youngster's asking price increase so drastically so moves to use Portuguese winger Nani as part of any deal to land the goal-scoring winger may be a wise way to get a deal completed.

Rodriguez is into his third season at the Estadio Dragao and has helped FC Porto to two domestic titles and a Europa League triumph during that period, netting 24 goals in 72 appearances in the process.

Radamel Falcao: Atletico Madrid to Chelsea

TransferMarketWeb report that Chelsea are ready to fork out the €80m (£64m) needed to trigger Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao's release clause.

As well as being ready to meet the Colombian's release clause Chelsea have reportedly agreed personal terms with the 26 year old Colombian hot-shot then it would appear that the West London side are half-way there in terms of their pursuit of the Atletico Madrid striker.

The Blues are keen on boosting their attacking options and despite the fact that Fernando Torres has begun to resemble the striker Chelsea paid £50m for the Spaniard is still by no means prolific and Roberto Di Matteo has very few alternatives to the former Liverpool man.

Toby Alderweireld: Ajax to Tottenham

Toby Alderweireld is a talented young defender who worked well alongside Jan Vertonghen at the heart of the Ajax back-line and now Andre Villas-Boas appears ready to make a move to bring another player from the Amsterdam club to White Hart Lane.

Buying Belgian has become the all the rage, indeed as well as snapping up Vertonghen the North London side also brought in Moussa Dembele from Fulham, now Villas-Boas wants to bring in a third member of the in-form national team.

23 year old Antwerp born defender Toby Alderweireld forged a good partnership with Jan Vertonghen, filling the void left by Thomas Vermaelen's departure for Arsenal and he is a player Ajax boss Frank de Boer will not want to lose.

Having won back to back Eredivisie titles with Ajax the young centre back, who can also play on the right side of the defence, may feel he has achieved all he can at the Amsterdam club.

Daniele De Rossi: Roma to Man City

Roberto Mancini has been tracking the battling Italian for the best part of a year and even though the Man City boss brought in defensive midfielders Javi Garcia and Jack Rodwell in over the summer there has still been strong speculation about the Etihad Stadium side's interest in the experienced Roma man.

The Rome born leader has racked up almost 400 appearances for his side and is now in his 12 season at the club but has on the whole failed to help the Giallorossi to succeed.

Indeed De Rossi has collected five Serie A title runners-up medals and of late has seen the club even secure Champions League football, last term's seventh place finish cost Luis Enrique his job, and arguably this could be the right time for the tough tackling midfielder to consider a new challenge.

Lewis Holtby: Schalke to Arsenal

Arsenal are in pole position as they continue their pursuit of Schalke midfielder Lewis Holtby according to CalcioMercato.

According to this source the North London club are favourites to sign the 22 year old German international as he sees his current deal run down. In January the battling midfielder will be available on a pre-contract basis as Arsenal look to sign the Schalke man on a free transfer next summer.

There doesn't seem an urgent need for Arsene Wenger to make an offer to sign Holtby in January as he has a fair few central midfield options in his squad and any interest may be with a view to the summer.

Victor Wanyama: Celtic to Man United

Sir Alex Ferguson lacks an out and out defensive midfielder and Wanyama may well be the Scot's number one target for the role and by all accounts the Man United boss has sent scouts to monitor the 21 year old on a few occasions this season, a move away from Celtic may well be a case of when and not if.

Mathieu Debuchy: Lille to Newcastle United

Alan Pardew has been chasing 27 year old right-back Mathieu Debuchy for months and even appeared to have come close to signing the Lille defender, only to see their hopes dashed and the transfer window slammed shut.

The Lille full-back enjoyed a good solid campaign last term, enjoyed a good run of form at the Euro 2012 finals and seemed likely to secure a move to St James' Park. However even though a deal had apparently been agreed by the Ligue 1 side and the Magpies, Newcastle United saw the goal-posts moved again and Alan Pardew opted to give up the chase.

Since then long term contract rebel Danny Simpson has signed a new deal and that may leave any move for the 27 year old one-club man somewhat obsolete.

However Pardew still wants Debuchy. Perhaps the St James' Park boss sees the French international as a player who can challenge Simpson for the right-back berth and help give his squad some much needed strength in depth.

Loic Remy: Marseille to Chelsea

Italian source TuttoMercato claim that Chelsea are lining up a January move for Marseille striker Loic Remy as their pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Radamel Falcao appears to have been put on the back-burner.

The 25 year old French international scored regularly in his first two seasons at the Stade Velodrome, netting 17 and 22 goals in his first two seasons respectively, but new boss Elie Baup hasn't seen fit to hand the former Nice man a prominent place in his starting line-up, opting instead to trust to Andre Pierre-Gignac.

Theo Walcott: Arsenal to Liverpool

Theo Walcott appears to be attracting a number of prospective suitors as his Arsenal future continues to be in a great deal of doubt. Having not signed a new deal during the summer transfer window it was always likely that things would begin to get a little awkward for the winger at the Emirates Stadium club.

Arsene Wenger has opted to consign the 23 year old England international to he bench until he agrees to a new deal on the terms set out by the North London side. Walcott on the other hand appears to want a bigger pay-packet and a striking role, depending on what speculation you choose to see as accurate.

However when the wide-man has been employed coming off the bench he has made an impact and it may prove tough to continue to leave out the speedy attacker if he shows just what he is capable of.

One does wonder if Walcott would consider a move to Liverpool and would surely not be open to the idea unless Rodgers has helped push his side well away from the drop zone and back in contention for a top four finish.

Rio Ferdinand: Man United to West Ham

West Ham were linked with a fair few big name targets over the summer and whilst they failed in their reported pursuits of star turns like Guti and Alessandro Del Piero, Sam Allardyce did manage to lure Andy Carroll and Alou Diarra to boost his Upton Park squad and now he has set his sights on Man United centre back Rio Ferdinand.

Whilst Sir Alex Ferguson has apparently swiftly patched up his differences with Ferdinand over his decision to protest against the 'Kick it Out' campaign so publicly, there is still scope for a successful West Ham bid.

The 33 year old Old Trafford star is in the last year of his contract and could therefore leave Man United on a free transfer next summer and therefore any offer for Ferdinand's services in January may well be considered.

Andre Schurrle: Bayer Leverkusen to Chelsea

Chelsea's interest in Andre Schurrle is well known and it will take a bid in excess of the £20m that failed over the summer in order for Roberto Di Matteo to secure the highly rated German international.

Interest from Borussia Dortmund may also appeal to the Bayer Leverkusen man but one would imagine the West London side would be able to offer the 21 year old a heftier pay packet.

Mario Balotelli: Man City to AC Milan

Mario Balotelli is wanted by AC Milan - and the Italian club are willing to sell a host of stars in order to fund a move for the Manchester City forward.

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi is clearly on a cost cutting drive and as such may insist further sales are conducted before the San Siro side can make a decent offer for Man City striker Mario Balotelli.

The 22 year old striker may well be ready to return to Serie A after seemingly finding himself as something of a back-up option at Man City.

The young forward will have returned from the Euro 2012 finals buoyed by his fine individual performances and as such will not have been happy to return to the Premier League title holders after a successful summer only to be left warming the Etihad Stadium bench.

Andrei Arshavin: Arsenal to Reading

One would imagine that if Reading made any sort of offer for the 31 year old winger then Arsene Wenger would gladly accept it. The former Zenit man's time at Arsenal has been something of a damp squib and the experienced attacker has rarely shown anything like the Euro 2008 form that made him the toast of the town some years back.

Now Arshavin is rarely used at all by the North London side who have long since given up on his ability to make a telling contribution for a consistent period. Wenger opts instead to use a myriad of alternative wide options that include the likes of Lukas Podolski, Gervinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and on occasion Theo Walcott.

Andrei Arshavin is apparently very settled in England and a move to Reading may mean the Arsenal man wouldn't have to move at all and as such could be the type of move he would be keen on, not least because it would hand him a chance to secure regular first team football.

Reading could well do with a player of his creative ability though Brian McDermott would hope that Arshavin would up his game in order to be a worthwhile signing.

Brede Hangeland: Fulham to Man United

Man United are something of a defensive shambles as present and Sir Alex Ferguson has recently been linked with interest in big Fulham centre back Brede Hangeland and the Scot will be buoyed by the news that the Craven Cottage side may have to consider offers for the contract rebel in January.

31 year old American born Norwegian international Hangeland is one of the most solid defenders in the Premier League and a player Martin Jol would be loathed to lose. However Fulham have lost a number of their star-turns over the past 18 months and they may indeed have to consider any offer for the 6ft 6in centre-back over the possibility of losing the former FC Copehagen veteran on a free transfer in the summer.

Demba Ba: Newcastle United to Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers Liverpool attack was already looking threadbare before Fabio Borini, who is yet to make an impact in the Premier League, suffered an injury and a move to bring in Newcastle United striker Demba Ba is a sensible and cost effective one that could well come to fruition, dependent to a large extent on whether other sides look to trigger the Senegal international's release clause.

The 27 year old former Hoffenheim and West Ham man has apparently been upset at Alan Pardew's insistence on using him in a wide attacking role to accommodate international team-mate Papiss Cisse and the fact that the Magpies boss chose to publicly reiterate that Ba's release clause was very much still in operation is proof enough that the relationship between the player and the St James' Park club are by no means ideal.

The chances of Liverpool luring Demba Ba to Anfield depend a great deal on where the Merseyside club are in the Premier League table come January.

Tom Ince: Blackpool to Tottenham

Son of former England midfielder Paul Ince, Tom spent three years at Liverpool before opting to move to Bloomfield Road after failing to break into the club's first team set-up. The 20 year old hasn't looked back and his form has led to a call-up to the England Under 21 side as well as a great deal of speculation about a return to the Premier League.

Ince has netted eight goals in 13 Championship matches this season and provided six assists and this despite the fact that the Tangerines are sitting in mid-table.

Tottenham are said to be interested in bringing Ince to the top tier.

Fernando Llorente: Athletic Bilbao to Arsenal

German media outlet4-4-2.com believe Arsenal are among a group of sides ready to make a January move to sign Fernando Llorente this January.

This source states that Athletic Bilbao are ready to accept offers of around €15m (£12m) for the 27 year old forward, a price that seems more than reasonable for a player of Llorente's experience and ability. Clearly the La Liga side have seen the forward's value diminish as he enters the final year of his contract and Arsenal would do well to make an offer to land the Spanish international.

Arsenal have struggled for goals this season, drawing blanks against Sunderland, Stoke City and Norwich City and having to thank a late winner to take care of ten man QPR. Olivier Giroud has struggled to adapt to life in the English top tier, netting just one goal in ten Premier League encounters.

Michael Dawson: Tottenham to QPR

QPR had reportedly agreed a £9m deal to sign Tottenham centre back Michael Dawson, only for personal terms to prevent a being completed. This led to the 28 year stating his intention to fight for his place in Andre Villas-Boas's first team and Mark Hughes appears keen to re-ignite his interest in the England international in January.

Dawson has played just two minutes of Premier League football under the new White Hart Lane boss so it would appear that the former Nottingham Forest man is not part of the Portuguese boss's plans and therefore the Tottenham centre back may opt to accept QPR's offer after all.

Though Hughes saw his defence hold up manfully during their goalless draw with local rivals Chelsea, QPR have on the whole looked suspect at the back, conceding 19 goals in ten Premier League matches this term.
