The top targets for the forthcoming transfer window in order of ever growing interest.

50.Marouane Chamakh
Daily Mail report that Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh is nearing a return to Ligue 1 side Bordeaux.
The 28 year old Moroccan has been a huge failure at the North London club and Arsene Wenger must at least be happy about the fact that he captured the forward on a free transfer but has been stuck with footing a wage packet of around £60k a week for a player who has looked way out of his depth in the English top tier.
Chamakh started solidly enough, netting ten goals in his first few months at the Emirates Stadium but then saw his form dip dramatically and has been surplus to requirements at Arsenal for quite some time, having not made a single minute of Premier League football thus far this season.
The forward has managed a total of 14 goals from 65 appearances since his move to the Gunners in the summer of 2010.
49.Lucas Digne
Italian source CalcioMercato claim that Man United have joined the race to sign French starlet Lucas Digne.
The teenage left-back has been strongly linked with a Lille exit with the likes of Chelsea and Man City said to be interested in the young defender.
Man United sent scouts to monitor Digne as Lille took on Bordeaux and seemingly must have been impressed by his efforts as Sir Alex Ferguson's interest in the French Under 19 international grows.
Ferguson signed Dutch full-back Alexander Buttner to keep Patrice Evra on his toes but perhaps the Scot is sufficiently interested in Digne to consider signing another left sided defender.
48.Stewart Downing
Downing was a virtual ever present last term under Kenny Dalglish but thus far this term has started just one Premier League match and Rodgers probably wouldn't stand in the England man's way if he were keen on a move back to Middlesbrough, the side he represented for eight years prior to his move to Villa Park in the summer of 2009.
47.Jack Butland
Roberto Mancini obviously has one of the safest pair of hands in the Premier League in the form of Joe Hart but arguably not a great deal of talented back-ups keeping the England man on his toes, so a move for Jack Butland could be a wise one to consider.
The 19 year old Birmingham City man was called up by Roy Hodgson to his Euro 2012 squad and then represented Team GB at the 2012 Olympic games and has been an ever present in Lee Clark's side thus far this season.
46.Yoan Gouffran
Adaptable forward Yoan Gouffran has admitted he is unlikely to sign a new Bordeaux contract and as such has sparked a great deal of interest in his services from across Europe.
The 26 year old former Caen man has spent the past four years at the Stade Chaban Delmas but despite Bordeaux's good start to the current Ligue 1 campaign the forward wants to leave.
A move to either Aston Villa or Everton may interest the former French Under 21 international and of the two it would appear that Paul Lambert's need for fresh attacking options may exceed those of Toffees boss David Moyes.
45.Heung-Min Son
Heung-Min is into his third season in the Hamburg first team having moved to the Imtech Arena side back in 2008 and last term the adaptable forward, who can play out on the flank or in an orthodox striking role, became a regular in Thorsten Fink's starting eleven.
The 20 year old has scored five goals in nine league appearances this term and the fact the young Hamburg forward can be used in a number of roles may well appeal to Wenger as looks at ways to beef up his squad.
44.Alan Dzagoev
The Russian midfielder has been strongly linked with interest from the North London club and is perhaps seen as a long term replacement for Luka Modric, who has perhaps not been ably replaced since his move to Real Madrid.
The pint sized creative talent won't come cheap though.
43.Tom Ince
Son of former England midfielder Paul Ince, Tom spent three years at Liverpool before opting to move to Bloomfield Road after failing to break into the club's first team set-up. The 20 year old hasn't looked back and his form has led to a call-up to the England Under 21 side as well as a great deal of speculation about a return to the Premier League.
Ince has netted ten goals in 15 Championship matches this season and provided six assists and this despite the fact that the Tangerines are sitting in mid-table.
Tottenham are said to be interested in bringing Ince to the top tier.
42.Brad Friedel
Andre Villas-Boas has confused many with his initial reluctance to play new signing Hugo Lloris but having selected the French international skipper for the North London derby it would appear that the White Hart Lane boss will look to switch tack and drop the American veteran to the bench on a lengthy basis, therefore a possible move back to Ewood Park may well suit the 41 year old custodian.
Championship side Blackburn Rovers are reportedly ready to offer a player-coach role to their former keeper who spent eight years at the club prior to his move to Aston Villa having amassed a total of 356 appearances for the Lancashire club.
41.Andrei Arshavin
Russian is certainly surplus to requirements at Arsenal and Reading are said to be interested in acquiring his services. The Gunners are sure to accept offers far below the £15m forked out for the winger. The 31 year old has only occasionally reached the heights he attained during the Euro 2008 finals and has on the whole been a huge disappointment at the Emirates Stadium.
40.Jetro Willems
TransferMarketWeb claim that Arsenal are the latest in a long list of clubs interested in PSV Eindhoven full-back Jetro Willems.
The teenage left-back was one of the few bright spots in Holland's disastrous Euro 2012 campaign and the 18 year old has continued to impress in the PSV Eindhoven first team this season.
Arsene Wenger may feel that injury issues and poor form could mean a move to bring in further defensive options is a must. Kieran Gibbs has improved a great deal over the past 18 months but has had more than his fair share of knocks. Andre Santos on the other hand has been woeful when called upon and could be forced out as a result.
This source claims that €6.5m (£5.2m) would be needed to land Willems, which seems a very low price for a young talent with mountains of potential.
39.David Beckham
A move back to the Premier League may just interest the 37 year old midfielder and perhaps a move back to his East London roots will lure the England man to West Ham, though one wonders just how much the Hammers would have to pay for such a move to become a reality.
Whilst no fee would be needed to sign the soon to be out of contract star it's fair to say that his wage demands would dwarf those of any current West Ham player.
Sam Allardyce has been linked with moves for a number of high profile players, including two former Upton Park heroes, Joe Cole and Rio Ferdinand, but a successful move to sign David Beckham would be an even bigger undertaking and West Ham will have to beat off interest from China and Australian sides keen to bring the footballing figurehead to represent leagues in their territory.
38.Mathieu Debuchy
Alan Pardew has been chasing 27 year old right-back Mathieu Debuchy for months and even appeared to have come close to signing the Lille defender, only to see their hopes dashed and the transfer window slammed shut.
The Lille full-back enjoyed a good solid campaign last term, enjoyed a good run of form at the Euro 2012 finals and seemed likely to secure a move to St James' Park. However even though a deal had apparently been agreed by the Ligue 1 side and the Magpies, Newcastle United saw the goal-posts moved again and Alan Pardew opted to give up the chase.
Since then long term contract rebel Danny Simpson has signed a new deal and that may leave any move for the 27 year old one-club man somewhat obsolete.
However Pardew still wants Debuchy. Perhaps the St James' Park boss sees the French international as a player who can challenge Simpson for the right-back berth and help give his squad some much needed strength in depth.
37.Michael Dawson
QPR had reportedly agreed a £9m deal to sign Tottenham centre back Michael Dawson, only for personal terms to prevent a being completed. This led to the 28 year stating his intention to fight for his place in Andre Villas-Boas's first team and Mark Hughes appears keen to re-ignite his interest in the England international in January.
Dawson hasn't started a Premier League match under the new White Hart Lane boss so it would appear that the former Nottingham Forest man is not part of the Portuguese boss's plans and therefore the Tottenham centre back may opt to accept QPR's offer after all.
Though Hughes saw his defence hold up manfully during their goalless draw with local rivals Chelsea, QPR have on the whole looked suspect at the back, conceding 19 goals in ten Premier League matches this term.
36.Toby Alderweireld
Toby Alderweireld is a talented young defender who worked well alongside Jan Vertonghen at the heart of the Ajax back-line and now Andre Villas-Boas appears ready to make a move to bring another player from the Amsterdam club to White Hart Lane.
Buying Belgian has become the all the rage, indeed as well as snapping up Vertonghen the North London side also brought in Moussa Dembele from Fulham, now Villas-Boas wants to bring in a third member of the in-form national team.
23 year old Antwerp born defender Toby Alderweireld forged a good partnership with Jan Vertonghen, filling the void left by Thomas Vermaelen's departure for Arsenal and he is a player Ajax boss Frank de Boer will not want to lose.
Having won back to back Eredivisie titles with Ajax the young centre back, who can also play on the right side of the defence, may feel he has achieved all he can at the Amsterdam club.
35.Ryan Shawcross
The Chester born defender spent six years at Man United but failed to make the grade, securing just two first team run-outs before his £1m move to Stoke City back in January 2008.
Sir Alex Ferguson's side have been horrific in defence this term but still sit top of the Premier League table due to the fact that Man United's attack have been able to adopt the policy of scoring more than they ship in, but clearly this is not an ideal situation to be in.
Now Man United are said to be in the running to re-sign the 25 year old defender.
34.Alen Halilovic
The 16 year old midfielder is clearly a player who is well thought of but given that Halilovic has only just made his first senior club appearance it may be a little too early to be doling out the superlatives and unrealistic comparisons.
Man City are reportedly very interested in the Dinamo Zagreb teen.
33.Miralem Pjanic
TuttoMercato report that Roma playmaker Miralem Pjanic has requested a move away from the Stadio Olimpico after failing to force his way into Zdenek Zeman's first team plans. Tottenham are said to lead the chase to sign the €20m (£16.1m) rated Bosnian international.
Andre Villas-Boas may see the former Lyon man as an ideal replacement for Luka Modric, a player that the North London side have arguably missed since his move to Real Madrid.
Pjanic hasn't had the best of times of it since his move to Roma and the managerial chances that have occurred at the Serie A side may well lead the stylish midfielder to push for an exit and a move to Tottenham may well appeal to the 22 year old.
32.Yoann Gourcuff
French international is apparently strongly linked with a Lyon exit as the Ligue 1 side continue to struggle financially.
Lyon must be in serious financial hardship as the Stade Gerland side made a decent sum from the sales of Hugo Lloris, Aly Cissokho and Kim Källström to Tottenham, Valencia and Spartak Moscow respectively.
Though French midfielder Gourcuff is perhaps not the same player he once was, his career blighted by injury and poor patches of form, at 26 years of age the former Bordeaux man still has a lot to offer and the temptation to pick up a long term target for a reduced price may be too much for Wenger to resist with Arsenal said to be leading the chase according to this source.
31.Lacina Traore
According to Russian source Izvestia Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Anzhi Makhachkala forward Lacina Traore.
This source states that a deal has 'in principal' been reached between the Anfield side the Dagestan based side to complete a move for the giant striker either in January or next summer with the player said to be worth an estimated €12m (£9.5m).
Whilst there is no denying that Brendan Rodgers could well do with attacking alternatives one would have to wonder how an 6ft 8in forward would fit into the Liverpool's boss's style of play, not least as Andy Carroll was loaned out to West Ham due to his apparent unsuitability for a forward role at the Merseyside club.
30.Joao Moutinho
A long term Tottenham target and perhaps a more complete midfielder than Boas's other targets.
The FC Porto man is also clearly a player the Tottenham boss knows well from his time in charge of the Estadio Dragao side.
Tottenham made firm moves to land the 26 year old in the summer but this source believes they will try again in January.
29.Ashley Cole
Speculation seems to be reaching boiling point in relation to Ashley Cole's Chelsea future. The left-back is not likely to be offered anything longer than a one year extension to his current contract when his deal runs out in the summer and this could well leave the England man vulnerable to being poached by sides willing to hand the 31 year old a more lengthy term.
PSG have been spending huge sums to help make the Parc des Princes side not only domestic title challengers but also a side able to compete for Champions League success.
Now Ancelotti wants to lure his former charge to the French capital and given just how much he could offer the former Arsenal man, a deal could well be on the cards.
28.Yann M'Vila
Man United lack an out and out defensive midfield signing and troubled French youngster Yann M'Vila may well be the ideal man for the job.
Rennes prized asset looked likely to join Arsenal before a combination of increased asking price and wage demands put paid to such a deal coming to fruition but as this source rightly points out the Ligue 1 side may well look to rid the club of the disruptive influence in January.
The 22 year old has racked up over 100 Ligue 1 appearances and has 22 national team caps to his name and is a player who could adapt well to life in the Premier League.
27.James Rodriguez
21 year old Colombian James Rodriguez has been a huge success since his move to FC Porto from Argentine side Banfield and Sir Alex Ferguson will have been dismayed to hear the youngster's asking price increase so drastically so moves to use Portuguese winger Nani as part of any deal to land the goal-scoring winger may be a wise way to get a deal completed.
Rodriguez is into his third season at the Estadio Dragao and has helped FC Porto to two domestic titles and a Europa League triumph during that period, netting 24 goals in 72 appearances in the process.
26.Marko Marin
One wouldn't blame Marko Marin for looking to leave Stamford Bridge. His £7m move to the West London club has seemed fairly pointless and the young German international must be wondering why he bothered joining a club that appears to have little or no interest in using his services.
The 23 year old winger has barely played a single minute of Premier League football for Chelsea and has been an unused sub for the past four fixtures and Chelsea may well look to offload the pint sized performer as he appears to be surplus to requirements.
Chelsea agreed a deal to sign the Werder Bremen man in April and then went on to buy the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Victor Moses and Marin must now be looking to leave the club as soon as possible.
25.Frank Lampard
Clearly leaving Chelsea would be a big wrench for Lampard, having been a hero at the club for over a decade, but having made just four Premier League starts this season it does look increasingly like the 34 year old is becoming surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
A move to the MLS or China could well be on the cards.
24.Edin Dzeko
The 26 year old has been handed just four Premier League starts this season but has still managed to regularly score six goals and helped Man City out of a number of delicately poised encounters to secure much needed wins.
Roberto Mancini paid £27m for the former Wolfsburg man but still sees the prolific marksman as behind both Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez in the pecking order.
Wenger is looking to Olivier Giroud to lead the Arsenal line single-handedly after seemingly electing to only use the likes Lukas Podolski, Gervinho and Theo Walcott in wide areas, therefore though the French summer signing has started to up his game there is certainly a need to bring in alternatives and Dzeko may well be tempted by the chance of a new challenge.
Arsenal apparently see Dzeko as an ideal January signing.
23.Daniel Sturridge
Daniel Sturridge has barely had a look in this season and come January it will be clear if Rafa Benitez is likely to offer the England man the regular first team football Roberto Di Matteo wasn't willing to hand the former Man City man.
Chelsea may be willing to sell the 23 year old if he doesn't fit in with the club's long term plans and the funds from any sale could be put towards further January additions that may better suit the West London club.
22.Nani
Italian source CalcioMercato claim that Antonio Conte, who is back from his ban in December, has targeted Man United winger Nani.
Nani appears to have become surplus to requirements at Man United, no longer a first team regular and apparently unwilling to accept the conditions of a contract offer that is apparently on the table.
Whilst Juventus have overcome all before them over the past 18 months they do arguably lack some attacking momentum and Conte may feel the inclusion of new options in this regard could help them achieve their lofty goals.
21.Stevan Jovetic
Portuguese source Fichajes claim that Chelsea are plotting a move for Fiorentina attacker Steven Jovetic after Blues scouts were sufficiently impressed with the Montenegrin international's efforts in the Serie A side's emphatic win over Catania.
The West London side have been trailing the 23 year old for some time and saw Jovetic score and lay on an assist as the Florence side thumped their Sicilian opponents 4-1. Chelsea scouts were in attendance at the match as were representatives from PSG and Barcelona as the clamour for the young talent continues to grow.
20.Lewis Holtby
The German midfielder is into the final year of his contract and apparently greatly interesting a host of sides, most notably Arsenal who came face to face with the player's Schalke side in Champions League competition.
19.Leandro Damiao
Damiao's national team colleague Lucas Leiva has sung the praises of the 23 year old stating publicly,
"He would suit the Premier League very well, as he is a strong centre-forward who finishes very well and knows how to play with his back to goal.”
Indeed that strength may lend itself well to life in the English top tier and Damiao's record of 74 goals in 126 appearances for Internacional has led to a number of prospective suitors taking an interest in his services.
A number of Premier League sides scouted Damiao during the 2012 Olympic Football tournament, where the Brazilian finished as top scorer with six goals.
18.Victor Wanyama
One can well see why a number of Europe's 'Elite' are beating a path to Victor Wanyama's door. The Kenyan has been in mighty impressive form over the past 18 months and his display against Barcelona in mid-week will only have further increased the chances of a big money offer for the 21 year old.
Neil Lennon has a fight on his hands to keep the youngster and may well have to consider offers for Wanyama, especially those which are ten times the fee the Glasgow side paid Beerschot for the defensive midfielder.
Sir Alex Ferguson may well feel he needs a steely presence in his side to help stem the tide of opposition attacks that have led to the Old Trafford side conceding a fair few goals this season.
17.Mario Balotelli
Mario Balotelli is wanted by AC Milan - and the Italian club are willing to sell a host of stars in order to fund a move for the Manchester City forward.
AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi is clearly on a cost cutting drive and as such may insist further sales are conducted before the San Siro side can make a decent offer for Man City striker Mario Balotelli.
The 22 year old striker may well be ready to return to Serie A after seemingly finding himself as something of a back-up option at Man City.
The young forward will have returned from the Euro 2012 finals buoyed by his fine individual performances and as such will not have been happy to return to the Premier League title holders after a successful summer only to be left warming the Etihad Stadium bench.
16.Kevin Strootman
Dutch source Soccernews.nl claim that Man United are closing on PSV Eindhoven midfielder Kevin Strootman and that such a deal is close to completion, so much so that the Eredivisie side has already identified Swedish international Oscar Hiljemark as a replacement for the Dutch youngster.
This source claims that Man United are lining up a €17m (£14m) bid for the 22 year old rangy midfielder who has been a big hit since his move to the Philips Stadion 18 months ago, a move that has helped to secure Strootman's spot in Louis Van Gaal's national team set-up.
Sir Alex Ferguson probably feels the need to freshen up his midfield and has been strongly linked with Strootman for some months now.
15.Daniele De Rossi
Roberto Mancini has been tracking the battling Italian for the best part of a year and even though the Man City boss brought in defensive midfielders Javi Garcia and Jack Rodwell in over the summer there has still been strong speculation about the Etihad Stadium side's interest in the experienced Roma man.
The Rome born leader has racked up almost 400 appearances for his side and is now in his 12 season at the club but has on the whole failed to help the Giallorossi to succeed.
Indeed De Rossi has collected five Serie A title runners-up medals and of late has seen the club even secure Champions League football, last term's seventh place finish cost Luis Enrique his job, and arguably this could be the right time for the tough tackling midfielder to consider a new challenge.
14.Mats Hummels
Spanish source Fichajes claims that Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels is pushing for a move to Man United.
The 23 year old has been strongly linked with a possible Old Trafford switch and this source believes that the defender is ready for force the situation by pushing for a deal to be struck.
Man United have been very weak defensively this term, suffering with a surfeit of injury concerns that have seen the likes of Phil Jones, Nemanja Vidic and Chris Smalling all spend time out on the sidelines. Inconsistent displays from Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans have further exacerbated the issue and a move to bring in a solid defender in January may well be on the cards for Sir Alex Ferguson.
13.Fernando Llorente
Into the final year of his contract this giant Athletic Bilbao forward has reportedly fallen out with his club and there is a very good chance that in January the Spanish international will get the move he has been looking for. Has the physique to make it in the English top tier but apparently Juventus have the upper hand in the chase for the consistent forward.
12.Willian
Brazilian put in two great displays against Chelsea and could well have earned himself a move to join a number of his countrymen at Stamford Bridge. Goal-scoring midfielder would no doubt be keen on a move to the West London club having gone about as far as he can with Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donestk.
11.Karim Benzema
Despite the fact that the 24 year old finished last term as Real Madrid's second top-scorer, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Jose Mourinho has seemingly consigned Benzema to a spot behind Argentine Gonzalo Higuain in the Real Madrid striking pecking order.
The former Lyon man has started just eight of the club's 19 fixtures in all competitions and this has led to a drop in form and a vicious circle that could well lead the powerful forward to consider a possible move to leave the Spanish giants.
Real Madrid spent upwards of £33m, a fee that is dependent on incremental increases connected with his continued presence at the club and any success the club achieves during his time at the club, to land the forward in July 2009. Though he struggled for form early on his career he has gone on to be a success in Spain's top tier.
Last term Benzema netted 32 goals in all competitions and Chelsea may well be interested in making a move for the Real Madrid star after seeing moves to capture Atletico Madrid goal machine Radamel Falcao hit something of a brick wall.
10.Andre Schurrle
German was the subject of two failed bids from Chelsea over the summer and the West London side may well hope to make third time lucky in January. The Bayer Leverkusen man has hit a good run of form and scoring a stunner on the weekend in front of a host of scouts won't have harmed his chances of high-profile move which could see the adaptable attacker leave the Bundesliga.
9.Isco
Talented young Spaniard has come to the fore over the past 18 months. Helped Malaga to secure a Champions League berth and has proceeded to further up his game this season after becoming a much needed member of Manuel Pellergini's first team following the departure of a number of the club's top talents in order to balance the books. If a decent offer is forthcoming then the La Liga side may well have little choice than to consider another sale.
8.Wilfried Zaha
Newly capped winger seems set for a move into the top tier and even though Crystal Palace are top of the Championship it does seem very likely the Eagles attacker will jump ship. The Selhurst Park side are going to be looking to garner a big fee for the talented youngster and Man United are reportedly leading the chase for the England man.
7.Demba Ba
A £7.5m release clause hangs over the Senegal striker's head and Alan Pardew may well end up losing the former West Ham man after Newcastle United's average start to the season. Liverpool and Tottenham are both said to fancy a move for the 27 year old forward.
6.Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
Can't stop scoring at Schalke but already into the final year of his contract so a move does appear to be on the cards. Arsenal are said to be favourites to sign the Dutch international who has seen his star rise in Germany after a couple of lean years at Real Madrid and AC Milan. Could be just what Arsene Wenger is looking for despite the player's age.
5.Marouane Fellaini
Everton will do well to keep hold of the Belgian this January. The big midfielder has been in great form and as a result is constantly linked with a Goodison Park exit. If the Toffees fail to retain their spot in the top four by the time the transfer window re-opens then a move could be inevitable, Chelsea are keen on landing the 24 year old.
4.Theo Walcott
Theo Walcott appears to be attracting a number of prospective suitors as his Arsenal future continues to be in a great deal of doubt. Having not signed a new deal during the summer transfer window it was always likely that things would begin to get a little awkward for the winger at the Emirates Stadium club.
Arsene Wenger had opted to consign the 23 year old England international to he bench until he agrees to a new deal on the terms set out by the North London side but a run of great form saw the Gunners boss change his stance. Walcott on the other hand appears to want a bigger pay-packet and a striking role, depending on what speculation you choose to see as accurate.
One does wonder if Walcott would consider a move to Liverpool and would surely not be open to the idea unless Rodgers has helped push his side well away from the drop zone and back in contention for a top four finish.
3.Edinson Cavani
Chelsea continue to be linked with Edinson Cavani, who has been a hugely successful Napoli signing over the past two and a half seasons. The Uruguayan did however see his strike partner Ezequiel Lavezzi leave for PSG and could perhaps be considering a similar high profile move.
That said, Napoli, much like Atletico, have started the season strongly after missing out on a Champions League berth. The San Paolo side sit in third spot and Cavani is once again unstoppable in front of goal having scored 14 goals in 15 matches in all competitions.
2.Robert Lewandowski
The Warsaw born 24 year old racked up 30 goals last season to help Jurgen Klopp's side to a domestic double and has scored eight goals already this season but the fact that the Westfalenstadion are already 11 points behind runaway leaders Bayern Munich may well be a motivating facor behind Lewandowski's reticence at signing a new deal.
He's seen the likes of Nuri Sahin and Shinji Kagawa leave the club and may be tempted to do the same.
1.Radamel Falcao
Colombian is a wanted man and Atletico Madrid's hopes of keeping the 26 year old could rest on their continuing good form. If the Vicente Calderon side slip away after their terrific start to the La Liga campaign then perhaps a move to a Premier League side in January becomes more tempting for the former FC Porto man.
