Maintains a cooperative relationship with donors, patients, visitors and staff. is required to recruit various blood donors and blood drives, and maintain established donor groups. He/she must work with volunteers on mobile drives, as well as in effective telephone recruiting. Prepares new patient blood usage cards and update old patient cards. Incumbent Prepares marketing materials including brochures, posters, as well as monthly reports with numbers of donors.

Minimum Years of Experience:
Two (2) years relevant experience
1. Maintain a safe and adequate supply of blood and blood components for patients
2. Selective recruiting for obtaining plateletpheresis donors who stay with the program
3. Give a daily speech in the Cardiovascular Surgery Waiting Room, to include the location and hours of the Blood Donor Center. Answer one-on-one questions
4. Promote employee awareness of the importance of donating blood
5. Communicate with patients in selecting individuals as designated donors
6. Inform patients of autologous procedure they will follow
7. Inform patients how blood can be replaced in or other locations
8. Help with the donors in the Donor Center. Give in-service in other departments as needed
