I recently had the great privilege of touring the 2014 HGTV Dream Home near Lake Tahoe, California, along with three other creative bloggers, as the invited guests of Delta Faucet who covered all of my expenses to attend the press day event, including travel, and accommodations at the extraordinary Ritz-Carlton. We learned at breakfast the day of the event that we were the very first bloggers ever on the press day tour- the big reveal day of every HGTV Dream Home. We were pinching ourselves! HUGE thank you to Delta Faucet and the Scripps Networks team! The snow began to come down in the early morning hours of the tour day and was getting quite heavy by the time we arrived- we thought that was just perfect for effect, though it limited our outdoor photography a bit. My new blog friends are Ashley Urke of Domestic Fashionista, Jeanne Chan of Shop Sweet Things, and Heidi Kundin of Happiness Is Homemade. We had the best time together!I took so many photos and want to share a few of my favorite features and areas of the home. The very first being the enormous foyer connecting the larger gathering area of the home to the private rooms. So perfect for coming in from the snow or lake and shaking off the moisture before settling in. Coming in through the front door, you look directly out the back glass doors at the patio and incredible property view.Into the kitchen, dining, and living area, you can’t help but be excited by the punch of color, spaciousness and warmth.Linda Woodrum, Lead Interior Designer (below), said when conceptualizing they considered what one color would you never expect to see in a Tahoe home in the mountains…Yellow! And so they had their decorating challenge. Beautifully done, Linda, it was like warm sunshine inside a snow covered cabin. The nearly 6-foot long granite island divides the dining area from the living area. One entire section of wall and backsplash in the kitchen around the sink area was covered in the most spectacular mosaic tile fashioned from antique boat wood. The shiny Delta Trinsic Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet Featuring Touch2O® Technology, in a beautiful modern European design accented the room in perfect surface contrast.Into the living room, more yellow with beautiful greys and hints of persimmon. Over the fireplace is a cross-cut slice of ponderosa pine, mounted into a wooden box. Out onto the beautiful back patio the s’more station awaits! In the first floor hallway there’s a powder room with a antiqued brass vessel sink and Compel Delta faucet. There is more unique coloring to be found in the master bedroom. What a lovely play on traditional textile patterns accented with more modern geometrics. Into the spacious adjoining master bath there is a contemporary-styled Arzo Two Handle Widespread Lavatory Faucet over the sink, and a faucet I never even knew existed over the tub- the Delta Floor Mount Tub Filler. Sign me up for that bubble bath!In the upstairs guest room there is more persimmon-orange, golden yellow, and woolen grey with touches of brown. The decorating took my breath away at times. The adjoining bathroom has a bit more feminine Victorian-style Cassidy Delta Faucet. Just right.

There are more many features, rooms and Delta Faucet products to be seen and you can find them in the photo gallery at HGTV.com. While you’re there, read the sweepstakes entry information for a chance to WIN the 2014 HGTV Dream Home!

It was a great pleasure to meet the incredible dream team behind the HGTV Dream Home: Linda Woodrum, Lead Interior Designer, David Bourk, House Architect with Ward-Youn Architecture, Jack Thomasson, HGTV House Planner, and John Marlin, of Marlin Atlantis Group- the developer and owner of Schaffer’s Mill Golf and Lake Club where the home is located.
