Hello again and greetings from the Paris Marine Family; THE Family Boating Centre for the Kawarthas.  Deborah and I both trust this message finds you all well and closing out your 2013 boating season without issues.

Though most of you have already begun the winterization process, and many have completed it, I am willing to bet there are a few latecomers to the party.  If you are among them, please be cognizant of the risks that are faced when temperatures nosedive into the negative numbers.Frozen blocks, bilges and live wells are costly mistakes that are easily preventable.  We would rather see you spend your hard earned dollars for fun on the water versus mistakes and oversights.

And, on the topic of costly mistakes; my drive in each morning constantly reminds me of the allure of saving money when it comes to your required marine-related maintenance.I have lost count of the numerous roadside signs and constant barrage of newspaper ads for cheap, discounted or low cost marine services.  Though these opportunities do facilitate initial cost savings, there is a significant increased risk associated with having a non-trained, non-current, or non-certified technician work on your boat and/or motor.  As my Dad always told us, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  With this in mind, if you choose to have your maintenance completed somewhere asides from Paris Marine, please be sure to ask them about their training, certifications and currency.  If they cannot produce them, it may be time to look else where for your service needs.

A couple of thoughts as we march towards the 2014 boating season with vengeance:

1. Peterborough Santa Claus Parade — December 7th   The 40th Annual Kinsman Club of Peterborough’s Santa Claus Parade will take place on December 7th at 6:00 pm and Paris Marine will represent again this year.  Our staff looks forward to this event each year and we hope to see you all out in support!

2. 2014 Toronto International Boat Show — 11-19 January   The boat show is less than 60 days away now and our planning is in full swing.  We have some exciting changes that we will debut at this year’s show and hope to see all of you there.  Please give us a call if you have specific questions related to show details, hours, or our product line.  Or, for more information on the show -click TIBS14.

3. Winter Season Hours   Deborah and I are always asked how long we close the dealership during the winter season.  The truth is, though we will be closed in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays from December 19th to January 2nd. Paris Marine’s doors remain open year-round to better serve and support our ever-growing clientele base.

Okay folks, I think this about does it.  Please ensure you approach the coming winterconditions with safety in mind.  And, asalways, please never hesitate to call us with questions or concerns that you may have regarding your boating needs.

Happy Boating!
