About the community

Gearhart, Oregon is a beautiful, residential community neatly tucked away only four miles north of the bustling town of Seaside. Just a short, 90 minute drive from downtown Portland, Gearhart has been a favorite getaway for Northwest residents since the late 1800s. Its two-mile long white sand beach and golden grassy dunes are often empty except for seaweed and driftwood, and where you can quietly while away the hours in search of razor clams or beach treasures.

While most residents prefer to enjoy its scenic beauty by foot, Gearhart Beach is one of the few public beaches in Oregon where visitors are permitted to drive on the sand.

This historic hamlet is also home to two golf courses, boasting breathtaking views and well-maintained properties. Gearhart Golf Links, with its spectacular links-style layout, is known as the oldest golf course established in the Northwest and arguably in the Western United States. Gearhart has not only earned a reputation as a popular golfing destination, but as an upscale, laid-back family retreat.
