That's very true, I even created a thread on that very subject as the difference between the neck and bridge pickup was bugging me at one point. (You can see where my palm resting on it has worn the satin finish off by the low E poles.

I've pretty much gotten use to it since then, and I've really come to love the new pickups sound. I've never used the bridge pickup on any guitar very much, but there's a creamy smoothness to the clobbering that the new 22SD delivers when pushed that I have really come to enjoy using. I don't think the new pickup is really different, or noticeably different, versus the vintage ones, but I can say since installing the new one I've really rediscovered the joys of the bridge pickup... Which extends over to the P90s, as that bridge P90S IS the sound of rock and roll. About as good as a slightly hot wound, alnico V 90 is going to sound.
