Honda India’s sales figures have been on a decline for a long time now. Even though the company introduced the BR-V and the Amaze facelift recently, the total sales of Honda India has still been declining. The Japanese auto major is soon planning to launch new products in the market that may change the fortunes of the company. We bring you 5 upcoming Honda cars that will arrive in India soon.
Brio facelift
The Brio has been long due for an update. The smallest hatchback from the Honda brand will receive a facelift soon and the new car has arrived at the dealerships too. The new Brio carries minor changes over the current car but it looks much better with these small updates.
The new Brio will come with a new grille, a new bumper, and slightly revised headlamp cluster. The interiors have been thoroughly revised with new dashboard and instrument cluster that looks similar to the new Honda Amaze. It will be powered by the same 87 BHP producing 1.2-litre petrol engine.
Accord Hybrid
The Accord will make a big comeback to the Indian market in October this year. The new Accord looks nothing similar to the old one that was present in India. The luxury sedan will come with a hybrid drivetrain and will be powered by a 2.0-litre engine that produces a maximum of 138 Bhp.
Working together with an electric motor, the total output of the car will be 212.5 BHP. Accord Hybrid will also be very fuel efficient and will return around 23.8 km/l. The car will be able to run on pure electric power too and will compete against the Toyota Camry Hybrid.
City facelift
Honda City facelift has been one of the most selling products of Honda Car India. To keep the product fresh in the market, Honda will soon update the City. The current City just completed little over two years in India.
The new City will get restyled bumpers, and a new headlamp and tail lamp set-up. Interiors will be updated with new dashboard and infotainment systems. The car will be continued to be powered by the current 1.5-litre diesel and petrol engines that develop 98 BHP and 116 BHP respectively. It will be heavily inspired by the Honda Greiz sedan available in the Chinese market
WR-V
Indian budget crossover segment is booming and almost every manufacturer has jumped into the segment to cash in on the rewards. Honda is yet to step into the segment. The company is planning to enter the budget crossover segment with the WR-V soon. The car is based on the Honda Jazz platform and will be unveiled at Sao Paulo Motor Show in November.
The WR-V will be a rugged avatar of the Jazz and will include minor changes to make it look different from the premium hatchback. The WR-V will get new front grille, smoked headlamp and plastic cladding around the car. It will also have raised ground clearance. The car will be powered by 98 BHP 1.5-litre diesel engine and 88 BHP 1.2-litre petrol engine. It will compete with the Maruti Vitara Brezza.
Honda Civic
The premium sedan from Honda was one of the first D-Segment cars launched in India. The beautiful design of the car turned many heads on the road. Even with the good looks, the car could not attract good sales figure and was eventually discontinued.
The Civic is all set to make a grand comeback in India. The new car will be powered by 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine that produces massive 173 BHP. The new Civic will land in India mid next year but Honda has remained tightlipped on the comeback of the legendary car.
