Skoda has officially revealed the 2013 Octavia RS, ahead of its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 10.

According to the Czech carmaker, the third-gen Octavia RS will be offered with a choice of two new engines: a 220 hp 2.0-liter TSI gasoline and a 184 hp 2.0-liter TDI. Mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, the TSI-powered Octavia RS will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 248 km/h, while the TDI variant manages 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds with a top speed of 232 km/h.

Compared to the second-gen Octavia RS, the new engines provide more power whilst consuming up to 19 percent less fuel. Start-Stop and Brake Energy Regeneration are fitted as standard. A DSG dual clutch transmission is available as options for both engines, each with six gears.

The 2013 Skoda Octavia RS will be available for retail on European markets next month, starting in the UK.
