Primary School Director’s Notes

Week of February 2, 2015

Lunch Online Orders were sent out via email today. Lunch order deadline is February 4. Please notice we have included some new more nutritional options. In February all Primary students will participate in a Nutritional Workshop by a Nutritionist from Miami Children’s Hospital.  Beginning in February we will have Tasty Tuesdays – where volunteer parents will come to snack time to have the students taste a healthy snack each week. Please help us support healthy eating habits!

Grade 1: 100th Day of School will be celebrated tomorrow, please check your daughters portal for more information on tomorrows dress down for the event.

Grade 1: Father Daughter Event 8:00 a.m.  We invite all fathers to join us this Friday. We will have breakfast followed by assembly and an activity in the classroom.

After School News: Registration for the Spring Trimester will be opening next Monday, February 9th at 10:00am. The spring brochure will be available online by the end of the day today. Current balances must be paid in full in order to able to register for spring classes. If you have any questions please contact Christina Marroquin at ext 2340.

Blood Drive: this coming Thursday Feb 5, 2015 8:30-3:30 p.m. in front of the PAC.

Canoe Trip: Just for this year the 2 canoeing trips in February (7th and 21st) have been cancelled. We look forward to having them in the calendar again. Primary School Personal Safety:  Your daughter will be participating in the personal safety part of the developmental curriculum during the next few weeks and months.  Please click on the link below to complete and submit the form to Mrs. Canto, our school counselor.  Montessori 5 & Primary Personal Safety Permission Form

The Carrollton Casserole Project will resume this month. The next collection will be on Tuesday, February 24. By supporting the Gift of Hope, a homeless shelter run by Blessed Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity, our families participate in the third goal of the Sacred Heart: a social awareness that impels to action.  Over 15,000 meals for the homeless have been prepared by our very generous community. Hearts for Haiti: Tuesday, February 10. If you would like your daughter to participate in the Bake Sale, please send money in a Ziploc bag with her name on the bag.  Students who purchased the T-shirt will be able to wear it on the day of the bake sale.  Students who would like to dress down, but did not purchase a T-shirt, should bring $5 and wear a red/pink/white shirt with jeans and sneakers.  In addition, you may read this letter from Sofie.org to learn more about the event.
