The top five Carp for the week were: 40.6 lb, 34.2 lb, 33 lb, 32.8 lb & 32.4 lb.
Of the 46 carp caught: 1 x 40, 8 x 30’s & 35 x 20’s (of which 11 were upper 20’s).
This week saw two groups drive down, Stephen Ciotkowski, Josh Atkinson & Andy Raynor arrived early Saturday morning, then Bob Sturgess and Rob Allen arrived mid afternoon. The week also saw a mixed bag of weather, we had some really hot days but also some welcoming cooler days.
Stephen fished Buzzard for the week and used Trigga (lake specials) topped with fake corn or as a snowman set up.
He landed himself 10 carp over the week totalling 240 lb 6 oz, unfortunately a thirty eluded him and his biggest for the week weighed in at 28 lb.
Andy came here with an upper twenty UK PB and was looking to beat that when he settled into Hawk, he was fishing Trigga (lake specials) topped with fake corn or maize with fake corn.
He wasn’t disappointed as his first fish he landed was a forty.
Andy landed himself six carp over the week totalling 162 lb 15 oz, his biggest weighed in at 40 lb 6 oz.
Josh fished Kestrel and when he arrived his PB was in the upper teens, he also fished Trigga (lake specials) topped with fake corn of different colours, he also caught one fish on monster squid purple.
Josh also landed six carp over the week totalling 181 lb 4 oz, half of catch were thirties.
His biggest for the week was a 33 lb common.
Bob Sturgess arrived mid afternoon with his wife (Sheila), daughter (Clare) and his daughter’s boyfriend (Rob Allen).
Bob & Rob were fishing for the week while Sheila and Clare stayed in the Gite and took in the sun and enjoyed the shops in the area.
Rob faired well over the week, he had an upper twenty Pb and was hoping to break into the 30 club.
He fished Harrier for the week and was using Nash Monster squid purple, topped with fake corn, or small pop ups.
Rob put his watercraft skills to work as you could always see him watching the water and trying different things, something that faired well for him as he landed the most fish over the week.
Rob landed himself 20 carp over the week totalling 491 lb 12 oz, four of which were thirties.
His biggest carp for the week weighed in at 34 lb 2 oz.
Bob decided to fish Owl for the week and had a quieter week and also he decided he wasn’t going to be fishing every night and even had a few trips out with his wife and daughter.
He fished Trigga (lake specials) topped with fake corn, Monster squid purple and maize with fake corn.
Bob landed himself four carp over the week, his biggest for the week weighed in 30 lb 14 oz.
Stephen’s group has already booked again for next year and we hope to see the other guys as well.
The lake is now closed for two weeks and our next set of anglers to arrive will be on the 1st September.
