Batik factory Penang in Penang is the perfect place to turn, it is one of the pioneers of making batik on the island. Founded in 1973 by Craft Batik Sdn Bhd, it is located in Teluk Bahang, a short walk from the Penang Botanic Gardens. The complex is divided into three parts: an art gallery, boutique and workshop

Visitors who want to buy batik clothes can look around the boutique, where men dress shirts batik prints, fabrics, scarves and much more (even haute couture dress!) Can be found. The workshop is open space adjacent boutique where you can see the artist’s drawing, coloring and stamping batik patterns on cloth. It was a good experience to see, with each artist specializing in certain products, from fabric to clothing: the artist can produce about ten meters of fabric per day.

Masjid Kapitan Keling is the largest mosque in Georgetown and attractions in Penang. It looks beautiful at sunset. It is named ‘captain’ of Keling (South Indian community leaders similar to the Chinese community leader), Cauder Mydin Merican. Whitewashed mosque topped with a large dome Mughal style golden yellow, crescent and star, and has a tower of Indian Muslims who would sound the call to prayer.

Masjid Kapitan Keling is 18 acres, but now includes only eight acres of land claimed by government officials for road construction. If you want to visit, mosque officials would have the authority to give permission or not. Visitors are only allowed in if they dress accordingly: for women this means trailing pants or skirt and blouse and trousers neatly dressed men cover themselves.

Among the interesting places in Penang is Penang Wonderfood Museum. Penang Botanic Gardens are usually just called in Penang Botanic Gardens. Also known as the Waterfall Gardens, parks situated in a valley in Jalan Kebun Bunga. It is a landscape that contains a variety of native and exotic plant species.

There is a ramp at Moon Gate Penang Botanic Gardens which lead up to the Hill: it is about an hour walk. It is a steep but interesting and very useful. Beware, the parks are not called Monkey Park for nothing, there are a lot of monkeys or apes. Kera along this road can be a bit naughty and nimble: do not get too close and do not attempt to feed or touch them because they can bite (plus a fine of $ 500 if you do). In addition to primates, other wildlife that live in the gardens is a dusky leaf monkeys, giant black squirrels and a variety of insects and butterflies.

For the safety of visitors, waterfalls in the gardens has been cordoned off. Park officials opened a guided tour for the public and for organized groups. TransitLink 202 buses run through the route that crosses the Penang Botanic Gardens, on the way to Teluk Bahang.

One of the destinations or attractions in Penang is the most popular in Penang (actually, it is the second destination of the most popular after Georgetown), Batu Feringghi consists of a long stretch of soft, white sandy beaches along the mountain road named Jalan Batu Feringghi, filled with a variety of places lodging and dining options.

Night market in Batu Ferringhi Beach is famous, while the waters are a popular destination for a variety of water sports activities such as parasailing and windsurfing.

Bukit Bendera was the first colonial hill station developed in Peninsular Malaysia. Consists of Western Hill, Bukit Laksamana, Tiger Hill, Flagstaff Hill and Government Hill, it is located 6 kilometers from Georgetown. Located 821 meters above the capital of Penang, it is usually about five degrees cooler than Georgetown. It was the last tropical rain forest in Penang. Flora and fauna here has been protected since 1960. But it does not have the same priority as Genting Highlands, Fraser’s Hill and Cameron Highlands but it is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Penang.

The most popular way to the top of the hill is the Penang Hill Railway. Located at the foot of the hill, this funicular starts from Air Itam. Built in 1923, it is one of the oldest funicular system in the world and has a 2,007 meter long track that climbs the hill in crawling pace 30 minutes.

Penang Toy Museum register itself as the world’s largest toy museum. It is home to more than 100,000 dolls, trains and other collections and has earned a place in the Malaysia Book of Records as the country’s first toy museum, with the largest collection of toys and dolls.

Walk through the front door is like stepping back into childhood and you are sure to see some old friends in the collection, from the My Little Tonnies and Care Bears to Doraemon and Gundam collection. Very fun place to visit, it is worthwhile and entertaining place to visit for both adults and children.
