Kampala Parents’ Schools has yet again shown that they are a powerhouse when it comes to primary education in Uganda. The private school located in Naguru along Lugogo by pass in the outskirts of Kampala registered an impressive performance in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) released by the ministry of education and Uganda National Examinations Board on Thursday.
The school which prides itself with start of art learning facilities and qualified teachers saw 200 pupils out of the 274 who sat for PLE pass in first division while the remaining 74 passed in super division two. The school principal said this year’s performance was better that last year’s because of combined efforts of parents, staff, management and pupils.

“This is to congratulate our pupils upon being the best in Maths country wide in the just released Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results by the Uganda National Examinations Board. Thank you once again for your continued support.” Daphne Kato, the school principal said of their achievement.
Uganda’s education and sports minister, First Lady Janet Museveni, on Thursday released the results of the 2016 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), which indicated improved general performance.
Prof. Mary Okwakol, the UNEB chairperson, said that results showed that male candidates beat their female counterparts. There was marked improved performance especially in English, with girls performing better than boys.
This time round, failure reduced by 9.2%, with boys’ failure rate at 5.3% and that of girls at 7.7%. She expressed her delight that more than 50% of the pupils who completed their primary education last year were female.
She said they had seen many young girls going to school, thereby reducing the cases of early marriages and teenage pregnancies.
